does what it says well Some windsheilds just won't hold the Garmin included rubber suction thingy. On 2 of our cars it holds fine all the time, but on a friends car where the windsheild it just shaped different it always falls down after a while no matter what we try. So we bought this just to be safe and it holds the GPS well in place and I think I like it better than connecting it to the windsheild, taking it on and off for easier access to typing in multiple destinations is better. Also note if you like to make quick or wide turns this thing is heavy and designed well enough it always stays in place.

Garmin Friction Mount This friction mount is fabulous. It stays put and you don't have to stick anything permanent on your vehicle's dashboard.
Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount Works as advertised. Easier than attaching the windshield mount and leaves no telltale marks that something was mounted in the car. Thieves look for that.
Must Buy This dashboard mounts perfectly, works perfectly in any car. Much better than the window mount that comes with the Garmin. It does not slide arround, I can place it anyhere on the dash and I love it.
