Product Description:
Studio: Infinity Resources Inc Release Date: 10/24/2006

Amazon.com:
Raised in an Italian convent, 16-year-old Robin Sana returns to her native Japan to join the STNJ, a secret organization that captures, rather than kills, witches of both sexes. The typically mismatched crew includes hacker Michael Lee, rookie Haruto Sakaki, psychic Miho Karasuma, Yurika Dojima, the spoiled daughter of a prominent family, and icily aloof Amon, the de facto leader of the team. As a "craft user," Robin can conjure fire as a weapon, but has some trouble with her aim. Witch Hunter combines the subdued palette of Blood: The Last Vampire with the alienated tone of the Vampire Princess Miyu OVAs. The elegantly designed settings and skillful use of color are more interesting than the flat stories about pursuing the supernatural murderers. All six volumes and a pin collection are included in this set. (Rated 13 and older: violence, alcohol and tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

4 out of 5 starsSlow at first but makes you want more
Witch Hunter Robin: Complete Collection

I have come to learn that most Anime series's start off with a simple story nothing real plot wise happening and then right around the 7 to 10th episode the whole thing changes. The whole plot changes, and your left wondering what is going to happen next. The graphics is good. I love the music, and am grateful that my oldest son introduced me to Anime and Manga. I wish and hope that our kids today will learn the lessons that are being taught in most Anime shows today. Good ones anyway. So kick back and watch a good show.

3 out of 5 starsAnime Fanatic Review - Decently Made, But Very Dull
I usually give an anime about 5-10 episodes. This anime had some potential and I was hoping it would've lived up to it but unfortunately not.

The one major flaw that this anime has is that, well, it's just plain boring. It doesn't put you over the edge, it doesn't make you wonder much, and the fight scenes are just plain lacking and downright predictable. They just go in, do a little bit of fighting, but the bad guys just get caught many times in the most boring of methods...getting shot by their specialized which gun which acts just like a regular gun.

It is extremely dull and I'm on episode 10, I'm going to watch one more episode before I completely trash the series. Not worth it. Your typical anime themes and plots, but they really didn't try to go the extra mile to make it special. Sad.

4 out of 5 starsRobin
This is a really interesting series with complicated characters. It pulls you in to the mysteries and keeps you until the end.

2 out of 5 starsThe Product you see is not what you get from Amazon.
The picture (of Witch Hunter Robin) you see above is not what you get. Mine was a hard shell with individual disc holders inside. Nothing else...so to start with I was disappointed.
I have only seen the 1st two disc but thought I would put up something to let people know about the mis-representation.
The 1st disc starts out well enough and the anime is solid but it did not take long figure out that there is no underlying plot. Unless things change in the discs to come then each 20 minute episode is a story to itself. No working up to the Boss...nothing leads into the next story for the most part. For instance...50 evil little dolls... they only find 49..but the next episode has nothing to do with the missing doll. One bad guy gets away...but he is not in the next episode. I hope things get better the more I watch. At this point it is not very good. I will finish this when I finish the series.
In discs 3-4-5-6 the story line is connected and progresses well and plays like one long story. That was a major plus compared to discs 1 & 2 yet because the first two discs are mostly a waste of time I could only give it 3 stars.
While I did like it...it is hard to recommend due to the lack of action in most of it.

5 out of 5 starsThree Hundred And Twenty Years Have Passed...A "Witch Hunter Robin" Review
First off, I would like to correct two things from Charles Solomon's review of this anime: 1) Robin's 15, not 16, and 2) Karasuma is not a "psychic", per se. She is able to perform a craft calling "scrying", but it has nothing to do with foretelling the future or anything like that. Sorry Mr. Solomon, but I just can't find a review credible if the reviewer can't even get the simplest of facts straight. But enough of that. On to the review of the anime.

I've seen this series a few times, and can say that it is among my favorites. Every one of the characters contributes something to the series, and they're all different. Although the series persists with a mainly darker tone, there are a few moments throughout in which I found myself laughing, the majority of these moments being when Robin and Amon exchange confused glances, as well as (almost) every time Sakaki and Doujima open their mouths. Even Amon came across as a bit humorous at times, in spite of himself. I was overall really pleased with the way the characters and their relationships developed.

One grievance I have with the series is concerning the character Miho Karasuma. I think the writers could have done more with her. She, at least to me, was one of the most interesting characters, and I wish she had gotten more screentime so we could have seen her develop more. She was probably the most stable of all the characters. She was always level-headed and professional, but also struggled with feelings of doubt during times of hardship and weakness.

I can only hope that people will see this anime the whole way through, and not be turned off by the initial "monster of the week" approach, as the series takes a turn a little less than halfway through. It really is a marvelous series, taking the boundary between human and witch and distorting it until it becomes difficult to distinguish between the two. The soundtrack is superb as well.
