Description: Gamers, grannies and stoners unite! From Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions comes a raucously funny, "fish-out-of bongwater comedy" (Playboy) that'll have you rolling with laughter! Life is sweet for 35-year-old video game tester Alex (Allen Covert), until he's forced to move in with his overbearing grandmother Lilly (Doris Roberts) and her two roommates: oversexed Grace (Shirley Jones) and overmedicated Bea (Shirley Knight). To save face with his much younger co-workers and super-sexy new boss (Linda Cardellini), Alex brags about the "three hot babes" living with him, but soon that cat's out of the bag?and the real party at Grandma's house has just begun! If you love footie pajamas, techno-talk and karate-chopping chimps (and who doesn't?), grab your buds and watch Grandma's Boy!
Not that funny. I will start by saying I LOVE Nick Swardson. But I did not find this movie funny at all. Maybe it's because I no longer smoke weed. I did not find this movie funny in the least. His character Jeff was the best by far, but that isn't saying much unfortunately.
Hilarious! At first glance, I wasn't sure about this movie because of the title. Once I watched it, I was laughing so hard that I was crying. It is hilarious! They put such a comical spin on burn-outs, dysfunctional family relationships, senior citizens and the work environment. I can easily see some of those characters in my own circle of friends. Watch it and enjoy!
A Must See This is one of the few movies that I am always down to watch with my friends. Grandma's Boy is hilarious from start to finish and its really too bad that it didn't get more attention when it was in theaters. The movie centers around a stoner video game tester in his late 30s that moves in with his grandmother.
Doctor Shakaloo gets it!...and so does more than 90% of the people that reviewed this Happy Madison classic! Anyone that gave this movie a rating below 3 stars has no gauge for judging the comedy genre. People complain about how the plot doesn't start until the last half of the movie, this is true, but it doesn't make a difference. The movie is still hilarious. People complain about the masturbation seen, but what about another classic like "There's Something About Mary." I bet you old geezers didn't like that one either. I can't imagine anyone not thinking the "Dance Dance Revolution" scene was funny. And what about the character JP who apparently buys his close in the Matrix? "How can he see me?" Doris Roberts and Mrs. Brady getting high on weed tea was genius. "If I knew company was coming over, I would have trimmed my antlers." All the people that gave this a bad rating are uptight and old, or just have no sense of humor!!!! I recomend you all go out and F**Kin' RAGE!!!
Sometimes a bit over the top The movie was hilarious! I am a gamer so of course I enjoyed it. The dude in the trench coat was a little to much though. His character was funny most of the time, but sometimes just annoying and took away from the funniness because he was just stupid. He could have been toned down a little more and the movie would have been just as good.
