Product Description: Get creative with your favorite pony friends! This innovative activity pad gives little artists the opportunity to doodle a dynamite picture, write a nifty note and color 'til their heart's content. The mess-free pad is printed with visible surprise ink so colors, patters and pictures will be revealed as you add water.
Not like Aquadoodle! We got this as a birthday gift for my daughter's third birthday. I automatically assumed it was an "Aquadoodle" brand, as we have the Elmo Aquadoodle mini-mats which my daughter (now 3, but started using at 2) and I both have had very positive experience with. Although at first this toy seemed great, I right away assumed my daughter and my two older nephews (who at ages 6 1/2 and 9, aren't always careful) were pressing too hard on the pages with the included pen. The film on the pages had been scratched up. However, I quickly realized that it was not the kids, but the pages and the pen themselves. I do not know how much this cost since we did not buy it, but if it is indeed $15 as Amazon is selling it for, I do not think it is worth the price. Perhaps I will try having my daughter dip the pen in a bowl of water and "paint" with the pen instead, as the other reviewer suggested. The included pen is definitely NOT up to par like the aquadoodle brand pens. After using it only a few days, the tip is already starting to get worn and has a blue mark on it... and my daughter is a very gentle child who does not get rough or destroy her toys/ books. It has also started to leak. On the plus side, I do like the "questions" on the reverse side of the pages. As an example, one question is "Can you find the sunglasses?".
A GREAT PRODUCT!!! (the inconviences aren't a big hassel) PROS: My daughters ages 2 and 4 LOVE these books. They provide lots of entertainment. My 4 year old has fine motor issues, and these books provide motivation to use the brush.
You're supposed to put water in the pen. That's too complicated. I just provide a bowl of water for them to dip their brush in to "paint" with.
Yes, the handle gets soggy. It's made of carbboard, but it dries. I put mine near the woodstove to dry and use again, though am sure you can put in a window.
I'll probably be investing a small fortune in these books, but feel its well worth it.
Great for toddlers My Child loves these, she has 3, Dora, Sponge Bob, and My little Pony. I would love to get more, but have only been able to find these 3. These books keep her busy for a while and shes is enjoying herself. She doesn't mind that each time she plays with it, it is the same picture. Lots of fun for a toddler. Great item.
U can use a regular paint brush and reuseble the is the best paint with water book it come with a pen but if u loose it just get a paint brush and when it dries its ready to paint again great so u dont have to keep buying paint with water books over and over
Fantastic Activity Book This book is great!! My daughter "colors" in it daily. We took it on an airplane trip and it kept her occupied for hours along with the color wonder coloring books. It does scratch up a bit after prolonged use, but it hasn't deterred her using it. I love that it's clean with no chance of mess around the house. I absolutely recommend this activity book and plan to buy other this summer for long road trips etc. All I need to do is pack a bottle of water to keep her "pen" working.
