Not exactly the homerun we'd expected....... My son (5) asked Santa for this for Christmas (it was the only thing he asked for). He loves all things with wheels and also enjoys building so I thought he'd really appreciate the fact that you can put this together in numerous ways to make different vehicles. The toy seems to be well made imo and I think the concept is a good one. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say the toy has had little play time and just takes up space for the most part.
Great Toy I bought this toy for my son for Christmas and he loves it. It can be turned into so many different things His cousin loved it so much I bought one for his birthday in July.
Excellent toy, at an excellent price!! My boys got this for Christmas (ages 2 & 6). The price at stores was $40+ ..Amazon was much more affordable. The set is durable, the boys love being creative with all the different pieces and attachment. Great fun!
Great Xmas toy 7yr old son has had many many hours of fun rebuilding this into many different tracked and wheeled vehicles. Quickly lost interest in snow monster part but the vehicle part is easily changed around for new setup each time. Highly recommended.
Santa's blunder I was convinced that Santa was making a spectacular choice when he brought my 5 1/2-year-old both the Arctic Mega Rig and the original dinosaur one.
In it's fully assembled state the Artic Mega Rig doesn't have the weight it requires to make the treads on the wheels move consistently. The couplers of the pieces aren't strong enough to keep everything assembled well.
Having said that, my son seemed content to play with the smaller configurations at least on Christmas Day. The day after, it was in a box in his room where it remained untouched until today(January 17th). I brought it out for him because he was home sick, bored and looking for something to play with. We put it together and fifteen minutes later he had lost interest.
Now, maybe it's simply the pairing of the wrong toy with my boy but then again, he's a kid who loves monsters, Godzilla, and for the longest time all things Imaginext.
To me, this toy has an absolutely cheap feel that in no way merits the steep price tag. I give it 3 stars because the dinosaur and snow monster are pretty decent and seem to get along well with all the Imaginext dinosaurs my son has.
