Amazon.com: A well-crafted family comedy about a fuzzy space alien who crash lands into the lives of the Tanner family, Alf Season Two spoons up a second serving of 26 episodes as deliciously witty as the first. The diminutive, sardonic Alien Life Form from planet Melmac (voiced by Paul Fusco) becomes an integral (and unabashed) part of the Tanner family in the sitcom's second season of its four-year run (1986-1990), with many of the storylines maximizing Alf's impish onstage chemistry with Willie (Max Wright). Alf is more outspoken this year and viewers will relish the nostalgic romps through his Alien Relocation Program, Melmacian hiccups, and brief stint in a monastery. Alf hosts the David Letterman show, rides the rails with "Boxcar Willie," recites his own rendition of "Born Free," and protests his house arrest on "Alfcatraz." The storylines continue to be fresh thanks to a team of seasoned writers, several of whom are new to the show this season. Alf remains a gem in the '80s lineup of family sitcoms by striking a near-perfect chord between kid-friendly kitsch and subtle adult humor. Alf never stoops to vulgarity; rather, the program remains a wacky, eclectic view of humanity through the eyes of an alien—who takes neither life form very seriously. Don't miss the program's highlight, "Ballad of Gilligan's Island," when Alf builds a lagoon in his backyard, morphs to Gilligan's Island, and gets a reality check on the definition of "fun," with cameos by the renowned cast of Bob Denver, Alan Hale, Russell Johnson, and Dawn Wells. The four-disc set includes two animated episodes. (All ages) --Lynn Gibson
Alf on DVD I am so glad to see Alf out on DVD. I received my purchase quickly and it was new and wrapped as promised. Good service and some programs I have wanted for some time. Yay!
Great DVD Purchased this for my sons age 10 and 12. They love it and can't believe that it was actually good from that long ago. haha!
ALF season two If you are an ALF fan you'll like this DVD. A little pricy though
just like old times....almost I bought all four seasons of ALF on DVD and was very happy when I got them in the post. But I would have to agree with the other reviews out there....it really is a big shame that the producers have decided to cut down the episodes which they put on the DVDs, and this applies to all seasons. It is still very funny, and brings back old memories, however real ALF fans will notice the difference and will be sad to find the (sometimes) funnies bits of the episodes completely missing. too bad
I'm Buying this Season for 1 Episode! I am not a huge ALF fan. I liked him okay when he was on air, and watched the episodes when the aired- but i didn't love it. Strawberry Shortcake- I loved. My Little Pony? I loved it. So, you are probably asking yourself why am I writing this review? I love one episode from the entire ALF series-one- and that is the Christmas episode from Season Two. I've had that one epiosde on VHS since I was a child, and it is truly more moving every time I see it. In the epiosde ALF struggles with Christmas. He gets into an arguement with Willie about the holiday's true meaning (while the family is spending Christmas at a friend's rustic cabin), and he becomes a stow away on the back of someone's truck, ending up in the children's ward of a hospital as a "stuffed toy." From there, ALF witnesses the various stages of our existence: death of innocence, the beginnings of life and along the way finds his humanity. ALF learns that Christmas is not about what you can get, but "about giving of yourself."
Truly, one of the most(if not THE most) moving holiday special from a TV series I've seen.
My VHS is all worn out. If I must buy the entire season for this one episode, then so be it. It is worth it.
