A Quality Sony Product ^ Hmm...going by the review questionaire, Amazon seems to think that this battery charger is a game (see the 'Fun' rating above). If so, then its probably the most boring game for the PSP. As a battery charger, however, it works quite well. It can function on 60Hz American power or the 50Hz stuff I've got here in Japan. It can handle both the standard PSP battery and the big 3600 mAh long-life battery I bought. As a Sony product, it's contruction is top-notch and it's use couldn't be easier: click a battery in place, swing out the foldable electrical outlet prongs, and plug the unit+battery into a wall outlet. Simple. I like it.
Good Charger ^ One night in the dark, I accidentally plugged my PSP into the incorrect power source while inside my Hummer using a power inverter. The internal power supply is(fried) permanently damaged and will no longer charge the PSP unit.After looking on the Official Sony website they offer to repair the internal 5 volt power supply for about $150.00 USD.
My alternative was to purchase the PSP Battery Wall Type Charger. I have been very satisfied with recharging my original PSP battery. The only con or negative is that it will only recharge Genuine SONY PSP batteries and will not charge after-market batteries..Other than that this unit works like a charm! Just think if you own additional SONY PSP batteries you can always have a fully charged battery on hand.
Works like a charm! ^ Although this battery charger may be a bit pricier than others it certainly has been worth it. It works like a charm, it doesn't take up much space, it has a plug that folds in, and best of all... it charges my PSP batteries very nicely! The review system thinks that this is a game so I gave it 5 stars for fun and overall because it keeps us being able to play our games by having fully charged batteries available.
Buyers beware. ^ While this charger may at first appear to be good, reliable and even portable. I have had problems with it. The first one I got, I plugged it into a wall outlet, and it fried the unit, luckily the battery remained unharmed. Was able to get a replacement just fine and it works too.
Here is the part I've had problems with, I've charged my psp batteries with this thing --several-- times, and eventually I begin to develop problems with the batteries, for instance, the batteries will no longer properly charge with the unit, or with the official Sony PSP battery charger. Fortunately though I was able to recover my 2200mAh battery by Sony by wiggling the battery and charger around enough, it takes time but if you're patient you might be able to get it to work again. And also lately, I've had my original psp battery go bad from using this charger too.
works great for the high cap batteries ^ the portability is awesome and it works great for the 2200mAh batteries.
it's a little irritating that it won't charge the 1100mAh battery that came with my psp (it won't seat properly) though.
