Amazon.com essential video:
The long-defunct, Southern California band regrouped for an album, an expensive tour (expensive for ticket buyers, that is), and this televised special, which features the Eagles in performance. Laid-back but sharp and even stirring during a longish acoustic set, the guys quickly get past the nostalgia element and sound truly viable. They even make it look easy: the sight of Joe Walsh wearing glasses and sitting in almost perfect repose as he effortlessly colors old hits "Tequila Sunrise" and new material such as "Learn to Be Still" may make you wonder why you ever stashed that guitar in the attic. But the band eventually gets off their stools and rocks out on "Hotel California" and other Eagles standards. All in all, it's an enjoyable and mellowing show. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 starsLove this
For some reason I was never a big big fan of Eagles back in the 70's. Recently I started listening to them again and absolutely cannot stop playing this video. I have it on in between listening to CNN/MSNBC on the elections. It is a great reprieve from that. Love, love, love it.

5 out of 5 starsHell Freezes Over
Wow! what kick to see them reform and work to get back to their great sound. The band gets better as they get into it. I love the guitar playing from both Dan Felder and Joe Walsh.
This is a must have for all Eagle fan.

5 out of 5 starsAmazing!!!
Absolutely amazing! One of the best dvd concerts that I have, crystal clear picture and fantastic sound. Acoustic rhapsody!!! So full of emotions, Eagles take you to another dimension. Great voices, great guitar sounds!

2 out of 5 starsMediocre - New views of show based on Felder's Book
I enjoyed reading Don Felder's book, Heaven and Hell. In this book he described some of the behind the scenes issues of this performance. When he was asked to be a part of this event and of re-joining the Eagles, he did it. When Glenn and Henley came back, there became this huge control thing happening. At once, the equal pay amounts were thrown out the Window. They were all told where exactly to stand. Felder was moved to the extreme right. If you watch this video, you seldom even see Felder. When he is seen, he is the one who is smiling and enjoying it the most as well as Joe Walsh. When Frey Sings he never sings to the audience but moves to the side which makes me gather that he is and was trully uncomfortable with this part of performing. Henley is way too monolithic. Just way to serious. The performances were ok but not relaxed enough. Also, the show starts way to slow....

The delivery time was fast. The book quality was excellent and the price for the quality of the book was even better.
