Good Product ^ I bought this several years ago and it still works great. The sound reception isn't always the best but average compared to similar products and it is definitely easy to use.
Kensington FM xmtr-Take off your antenna !!!!!!!! ^ Was good transmitter, until we took off the car antenna, then it totally rocked. Too bad, not everyone can take off their antenna. But when the antenna comes off, their is very little radio reception, there fore no interference and so voila, it rocks. Not true with the monster 300. it sucked both ways.
Kensington also has a fuse, so I can fix mine...and get ride of the monster I just bought
doesn't work in a prius ^ this thing works ok in my son's corolla, but doesn't work well at all in my Prius, there's some kind of interference in there and most of what you get is static. Plus it's almost impossible to see the readout.
doesn't work with touch ^ works excellent as a transmitter but it will not charge an ipod touch in the car
It Works ^ Like many of the other reviewers, my car is incapable of a direct mp3 connection. I tried one of those tapes. Epic fail. Loads of annoying staticy noises. Tried a different tape brand, still nope. Went to Best Buy, selected the most expensive FM transmitter intending just to see if anything would work. The Belkin Clearscan worked, not good enough tho. Returned, got my $80 back. Started researching on amazon, going through all the transmitter ratings. Figured the highest percentage of 5 Stars would do the trick, which was the Kensington by a large margin. Shipping was crazy fast. Very easy to work. The buttons have a slight Made in China feel. But small matter. Given my car's antena (1998 Lexus GS300) is hidden at the top of the rear window, aka: middling radio reception, the Kensington is amazing. Oddly it works best keeping my iPod in the center of the car and parking garages interfere. On open roads, sound is very clear. Charging and transmitting is a sweet deal. This Kensington rocks my car!
