    Amazon.com Product Description:
Things may go bump in the dark, but you don't have to be one of them! The First Alert motion sensing light socket turns the light onN when you enter a room or open a closet, and then turns it off after you leave. It combines the safety and security of a well-lit room with the convenience of easy installation. The hands-free motion sensor screws right into a standard, uncovered light socket, just like a light bulb. No additional wiring is required. The socket senses motion within 360 degrees and is ideal for laundry rooms, garages, basements, attics, walk-in closets, and stairways. Use with 25 to 100-watt bulbs. Not for outdoor use.--Bree Norlander

5 out of 5 stars"Let There Be Light"
We had one of these in basement laundry room so that The light would not be left on all night and day. Then went to buy one for the attic, where it is hard to see until you are all the way up the stairs. Now light comes on as soon as it senses you are in the area. NO longer sold at Home Depot!! Went online and found them on Amazon.com. Cheaper then in store and sent in two days!!!

5 out of 5 starsThe More Light The Better
Works great, before I get half way down the cellar steps, the extra light comes on so I have a full clear lighted view of the whole basement

1 out of 5 starsNever really worked, and then completely stopped working
We put this into a pantry, which was about 12 feet deep and 7 feet wide. The montion sensing part never really worked, even after we adjusted the "eyes" several times. Initially (about 2 days) the timer did work and shut off the light, but then this feature also stopped working. We tried several different types of bulbs and changed the location of the eyes over the course of a week.

Maybe we got a lemon, as I have seen others comment about the unit failing in the first year of use.

5 out of 5 starsPerfect solution
I use this in my basement laundry room. The lighting there is one of the pull cords and you have to walk the length of the room to get to the lighting (which doesn't work well at night). This is the perfect solution for me. I don't know how many times I've left that light on thinking I'd go back down and it would be on the a day or two. Love this product. Wished it would work with the CLF's but happy with what I have.

4 out of 5 starsMotion Sensing light
I was very happy with purchase of MOTION SENSING LIGHT. We purchased these lights for a safety program we were doing with our Volunteer fire department.
The light comes on immediately after opening door. Our only concern is that it stays on four(4) minutes after last motion is detected wasting electricity.
But as a whole we are very happy with item and recommend this item to anyone that has a safety concern with a dark room with a light switch that is hard to find.
