Description:
Let the pros show you how to create your own comic, from script to print! Write Now! Magazine Editor-in-Chief (and former Spider-Man Group Editor) Danny Fingeroth and Draw! Magazine EIC and artist Mike Manley have combined forces to create this one-of-a-kind instructional DVD! As respected comics pros, Mike and Danny have the years of hands-on experience at Marvel, DC, and other publishers to show you how a new character is created, from initial idea, to script, to drawn, colored and printed first story! Produced in conjunction with the current, comprehensive "how-to" crossover between Write Now! #8 and Draw! #9, this step-by-step DVD documents the brainstorming process between Mike and Danny as they come up with their new characters and concepts. Then, Danny discusses the scripting, and Mike walks you through how he produces layouts, penciling, inking, coloring, lettering, and more! Includes bonus features to augment the tutorials, showing the secrets the pros use in their daily work. This DVD can stand alone, but also complements the printed crossover in Write Now! #8 and Draw! #9!

5 out of 5 starsFrom Script to Print...
The title says it all. This takes you from script, through the various stages it takes to get that printed four-color magazine into your hands. Done by Draw Magazine editor Maike Manley (and artist Bret Blevins) along with Write Now! Magazine editor Danny Fingeroth, who know and work in the business, this is a great place to start and a great resource.

5 out of 5 starsExcels in information that's hard to teach in book format
If you read the same information from a book, you'd soon forget it, or simply not understand it.

By watching a page being drawn and hearing the tips the comic book veteran has to say... you get a much deeper understanding of how to draw comics. Be warned though, you must already have an eye of an artist, to learn from what you see.

3 out of 5 starsPRE-SKETCHED Art
The DVD was OK. Not bad. But it doesn't really teach you to draw comics from scratch. The artist has already "PRE-SKETCHED" all the artwork with blue pencil, so you don't get to see him draw everything from the start.
With a title like "From Script To Print", I was expecting to see the artist draw "Starting with a BLANK page".
