Rocks. Hurts but rocks Everything everyone says about this is true. Transformational work. But, the getting easier as you go along hasn't happened for ME yet. I'm just at ten hours ... I look forward to the changes by hour 19. If you want to change your body for the better, get this and commit to it.
Felt the burn after the first time! Although I saw a lot of reviews that said the disc didn't have a chapter menu, mine in fact did, which I loved. I am a 22 year old active female highly involved in swimming and running and I can honestly say I felt that I had gotten more of a complete workout from this dvd than I do from most of my runs. I couldn't even get through the warmup section without breaking into a sweat. I felt muscles burn that I wasn't even aware of having! I can't wait to get through the ten hours to see the final results!
Great Instructor I am very pleased with this cd. The instructor has got to be one of the best instructors that I have come across; she really cares about her students and has a passion in making sure that all her students are performing the routines correctly!
I started using this cd with my Fluidity Bar. I wish Callan was the instructor for the Fluidity program, but it's still very nice using the bar with Callan's cd. I am purchasing more cd's from Callan. She is AWESOME!
Callan knows her stuff. I started using DVD this last spring to get in shape for a cruise I was going on, and was astonished to see how fast it worked. If the other reviews make you think that only older people use this, forget it. I'm 21 and naturally slim/tall, but nothing has EVER toned me like this does. I love hiking and outdoor activity, so it's not like I'm out of shape, but these excercises seriously make me sweat.
About the only negative thing (depending on your disposition) is that sometimes, when Callan is yapping in her british accent about how HER behind is even HIGHER than the line, etc, and you're sweating and killing yourself trying to do a seemingly simple move, you may have the urge to throw something at her through your TV screen. I usually just settle for telling her to shut up. :) Honestly though, buy it, and use it 3 times a week, and you WILL see & feel major improvements!
I prefer PILATES!!!!!!!! THE GENERAL IDEA OF CALLANETICS IS TO DO THE STRETCHES INSPIRED BY PILATES OR BALLET AND TO HOLD THE POSE FOR A REALLY LONG SUPER STRETCH. THIS IDEA APPARENTLY LENGTHENS AND STRENGTHENS THE LARGER MUSLES AND IS SUPPOSED TO WORK QUICKLY.
WELL CALANETICS DEFINATELY IMPRESSED ME...ESP THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICS...AND HER BODY SURE IS GREAT FOR ANY AGE! BUT I FELT AWKWARD DOING THIS DVD..DID IT 4 TIMES (4HRS) REALLY FELT NO "RESULT".
WHEN I DO JUST 10 TO 20 MINUTES OF PILATES EVERY OTHER DAY..AFTER JUST ONE WEEK I WALK DIFFERENT AND FEEL TALLER AND TIGHTER...SO THIS DVD IRONICALLY ENOUGH INSPIRED ME TO GO BACK TO PILATES B/C I KEEP THINKING WOW IF I GAVE PILATES 1 HOUR WORKOUT SESSIONS I COULD MOVE MOUNTAINS!
I DO NOT REGRET BUYING THIS THOUGH B/C SHE STRESSED WORKING OUT THE LARGE MUSLES AND I HAVE LEARNED SOME NEW EXCERCISES I NEVER THOUGHT OF BEFORE. SHE ALSO HELPS ME WITH MY PILATES FORMS B/C CALAN IS SUCH A GREAT TEACHER AND REALLY EMPHASISES FORM I FIND MYSELF DOING BETTER FORMS WHEN I AM DOING PILATES.
I KNOW HOW QUICKLY PILATES WORK SO ONCE I GET FIRM QUICKLY I THINK I WILL RETRY THIS ONE...RIGHT NOW I AM OUT OF SHAPE AND CALLANETICS EVEN AFTER ONE HOUR MAKES ME FEEL TENSE, ANNOYED AND INCOMPLETE. IT IS QUITE FRUSTRATING WHEN I CANT DO THE STRETCHES AND DOES NOT FEEL LIKE IT FLOWS. WHEN I DO ANY OF THE PILATES DVDS...EVEN THE 10 MINUTES ONES...I FEEL INVIGORATED, ALIVE AND MOST OF ALL FLEXIBLE AND FIRM.
