Editorial Review : Dinosaurs are a common obsession among kids and this dinosaur toy takes children back to the Mesozoic Era for unlimited play in a prehistoric time. Thunder, a replica of a Brontosaurus, is so named for the thundering footstep noises and roar he makes when kids pull the lever under his tail. In addition to movable stomping feet, this Brontosaurus moves vertically at the head, neck, and tail and also twists at the neck. Per Fisher-Price’s storyline for these beasts, kids can pretend that Thunder is the head of the Ecovores, a group of dinosaurs trying to protect their environment from the natural resource-hogging Predator dinosaurs. Or kids can challenge their imagination by creating their own stories and scenes with this gentle giant. Thunder comes with a saddle on his back and three raptor dinosaurs, who are prepared to follow his lead. Also included is a caveman figure with a saber tooth tiger skin wrap and a primitive weapon, which, although not exactly accurate for the time period, extends play possibilities a bit. It doesn't get much better than this! A toy that my 4 year old boy keeps playing with over & over again. The entire series has him captivated. Up until the Imaginext Dinosaurs he really didn't have any interests, so I am thrilled that we stumbled upon this series. These are so durable and reasonably priced, too!!!
Another great dino by Imaginext The brontosaurus is yet another of the Imaginext dino toys that are so well-made (durable and adjustable) and fun to play with, our kids really enjoy them. We have two boys 4 and 6, and they usually have fights between thunder and the t-rex. With all the smashing and crashing they do, we've had not so much as a paint chip on any of the toys. The sounds are great, and I love how you can move their legs and tail around. They make a great addition to our dinosaur collection.
Great Toy I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr. old, who is madly in love with dinosaurs. This is a really neat toy. He enjoys the little cavemen that came with it, the sounds the dinosaur makes, and it is clearly his favorite toy for Christmas. I think what I like the most, is the durable construction, and how it really enables him to use his imagination. It is a little lop sided, because the foot is raised for a stomping motion when you pull the trigger, but this hasn't bothered him in the least.
His two older brothers, 6 and 4, hover anxiously for him to put this toy down so that they can pounce on it and play with it, so I think this is a great toy for a variety of ages. I'm looking forward to purchasing more of the collection for all of them.
very cool dino Very neat, detailed & sturdy toy...My boy's love their imaginext dinosaurs (they have them all) The Best part is that you can snap on the caveman's saddle and take him for a ride.. Very cute set! I would definitly recommend buying this toy for a dinosaur loving boy!
This one is a keeper!! This is a toy that my son always wants to play with and we've had this dinosaur for quite a while now. Usually, we buy our son a toy that he pleads for (he likes it soooooo much) and it looks like fun but then it ends up in the back of his closet after a few days of playing with it. This brontosaurus makes a booming sound with his feet when you pull a trigger underneath which both my sons love (4 & 2) and the included figures are great. This toy stands up to the brutual tug of war that accompanies our two small boys and it is quite the bargain at the price. I highly recommend all of the dinosaurs and cavemen in this series. Not only does it keep my sons busy (oh yeah) but it also helps built their imagination as I hear them tell each other all these stories about their dinosaurs. Imaginext has even come out with "NEW" dinosaurs in this line which can be found at Target or other stores (I have found that TRU has a limited selection).
