Great for getting the creative engine started It's been many a moon since I painted a landscape, seascape or still life. I've been involved in a lot of artsy craftsy stuff as an adult but was afraid to paint on canvas again, even though I really wanted to because as a child I painted all the time. This series gave me a starting point and there's no turning back now. If you are already painting I would not recommend buying these. But following along with Frank's instructions as he paints made it easy for me to get several very basic acrylic paintings finished in about one hour and a half for each one (even though each lesson is only half an hour, I had to rewind a lot, which is why having the DVDs is so great). After watching seven classes many times over (please note, this DVD contains two lessons) I now feel like Frank Clarke is an old friend. His enthusiasm for painting is contagious. Later on I may purchase his oil and water color DVDs too. Now I am painting my own compositions but sometimes I have Frank's DVDs on in the background just for the company and motivation!
