Product Description: OneNote 2003 is the note-taking and management program designed for use with Microsoft office. It's like a paper notebook built into your PC. No more frustrating searches through sticky notes, index cards or scraps for those important notes - it keeps your information organized. Capture all your information in one place, so you don't drown in e-mail, meetings, presentations, classes. Deploy and manage information across your entire organization or enterprise, with the advanced technologies
I'm looking for a product like this, just not sure this is the one Having been through graduate school collecting copious notes on secondary literature, and collecting stacks and stacks of notes, I've been looking for a product -- and played with several different ones -- that could "collect all my thoughts."
OneNote is the one that comes closest. Now, it affords me the opportunity to collect notes about my customers -- better than a CRM program! -- write down ideas for speeches I want to give or articles I want to write, and help me remember my karate forms.
But, OneNote requires a lot of dedication, especially at the beginning, as you learn the whole tabbed structure for organizing your work.
Finally, I've recently given up on this product, since I can only really work on it on one computer. But, my life now isn't confined to one computer anymore. I'm on several, so, lately, I've opted for using Google Docs, which enables me to work from any location. The organization is messier, but, at least, when an idea hits me, I can get it down immediately.
A great product, but I question the future of products tied to the desktop.
A Must-Have Organizational Tool for Any Professional (or Gamer) I used MS OneNote daily at work to keep track of documentation and to save and organize canned emails. This program has saved me a lot of time that might otherwise be spent organizing folders and folders of hundreds of MS Word documents.
One of the features I love is that you can highlight website content, including images, and copy and paste directly into OneNote really easily. This allows you to easy move documentation and information all into one place instead of having to dig through numerous files and websites.
I also use this tool at home to keep track of information while playing MMORPGs. I can have separate tabs for different games or different characters, tabs for professions, skill point calculations, DKP recording, Master Looting notes, and so forth.
I love the fact that you don't have to save, ever... it does that automatically... so you can keep the program open all day and just keep adding notes whenever you need to.
I Love OneNote This product is great for anyone who takes extensive notes or just needs to get themselves organized. It works well with the To Do list in Outlook and with just about any other Microsoft product. It's especially amazing in conjuction with a Tablet PC. I've been using it for over 2 years and I have yet to have a problem with it!
Couldn't get it to work at all I downloaded the trial version. The features look great but I couldn't get the program to work. It wouldn't even let me type anything on the page.
