Awesome helmet and chestplate makes your voice sound just like Darth Vader's! Features real electronic breathing sounds and phrases from the movie!
Editorial Review: With just the donning of this helmet you too may command the powers of the Dark Side! Or, at least, you'll take on the role of the most notorious scourge the Jedi have ever known: Darth Vader. Once you've put on this perfect replica of Vader's trademark mask and chest plate you'll find yourself in command of not just his tell-tale breathing and five actual movie quotes but also the ability to speak in Darth Vader's menacing voice. The helmet itself is constructed of hard plastic and can be adjusted to comfortably fit children to young adults (though older adults may be unable to get the mask on). The attached chest plate lets you command the sound effects with just the touch of a button. This unit not only comes with full instructions but also batteries so you're ready to go right out of the box. In no time you'll be striking fear into the hearts of do-gooders everywhere! --Chip Quinn
Star Wars mask fun--sort of. ^ I bought this mask for my son and I will be the first to admit he is a little young for this type of toy--he is 4. But it was the only thing he asked for for Christmas. He is able to wear the mask (although it is a little big for him). The voice changer box was held on to the mask below with two straps. One of the straps broke the very first day. We fixed it with some black electrical tape but that was a bit of a bummer for the little guy. The voice changer doesn't work super well but it is still sort of cool. The "breathing" button is by far the coolest button as some of the other phrase buttons the phrases are said kind of fast. It is very realistic looking though, I have to say that. He loves to look like Darth Vader--so overall it was still a success.
Haloweeen Mask ^ My grandson just loved his mask on Haloween. He even wore it afterward when playing with his friends.
good helmet, bad voice changer ^ I've heard the complaints about removing the helmet piece and it not going back together the same way. I could see how repeatedly doing this might cause an issue over time but I've personally never found the need to do it other than the one time just because it could be done and I like taking things apart. There really is no reason to disassemble the helmet from the mask.
The voice changer is HORRIBLE! Do not buy this helmet expecting to utilize the voice changer. That is the reason for only 3 stars. If it was marketed as a helmet only, I would have given it 4.
That being said, the built in sound effects are fun and sound good. As an adult, I find the voice changer chest box hangs too high on my chest to be visually accurate but I concede the helmet was probably made for a child and I was able to correct this by fabricating new connector straps of longer length.
I personally love this helmet and while it's not of the quality and film accuracy of others on the market, those others are very expensive and this helmet is great bang for the buck. I've had a ton of fun with this helmet and would recommend it as a mask, just not a voice changer.
Cool Infact ^ This Helmet, with sounds in the chest-box...is cool it deserves the money you spend on it....nice to play One size fit all Adult and Children....ti's not a real voice changer but it's one of the best helmets os the Star Wars Saga
My son got tons of toys this Xmas. This is by far the favorite! ^ My son got so many toys this Christmas. This is by far his favorite! This is so fun that even the grown up are walking around using the mask. Everyone wants to do the Darth Vader voice. This is just the best thing out there.
