Delayed answers and our ?on-screen mouth? (in video versions) help learners check their reading and pronunciation. Busy parents and teachers love the way Rock ?N Learn Phonics encourages independent practice and holds the attention of groups. Teaches vowels, consonants, blends, digraphs, diphthongs, ?rule breakers,? and much more. Complements any curriculum. High interest for ages 6 to adult
Good but moves a little fast I have enjoyed this video; I like the songs they use for the purpose of learning. My boys really enjoyed singing along. My only issue is the speed of the video. It doesn't flow very smoothly. It jumps from letter sounds right into combination consonants. I just thought it move through the subject matter very quick.
Rock 'N Learn is fabulous We checked this out at the library and started showing to our 9 month old son. He loves it. I can't wait to order more of the series. He paid attention to the entire episode and actually started making the sounds. His little mind is absorbing everything at this age. Do your kids a favor, don't wait until age 6, start early. Children one year old or younger ARE old enough to understand this material. The words are large enough to see, and the music holds their attention. The voices in the film are clear and articulate. This is one of the few products that makes itself comprehensible to little ones. According to Glen Doman, who wrote How To Teach Your Baby To Read (The Gentle Revolution), as long as a child can see the words (ie they are big enough) they can learn to read at the same speed they pick up spoken language. The letter groups are also very specific and some of the words have images shown so my child can connect the sounds with the objects. Keep in mind, even the music is educational and beneficial to your child's mental development.
phonics for kids This is a great video for kids to learn/practice reading. These are all phonics skills kids need to learn to read. My kids love this video. They read along. My kids are 6 and 8. If they get bored, then break the video viewing time up into pieces. There are lots of skills involved. This video is mainly for first graders, but could be for kinder or second grade kids as well. I am a teacher, and this video has very important skills that need to be learned. Great for ages 4 to 9, but aimed at about 1st graders.
Rock N Learn: Phonics- Fun for Students My second grade students love this DVD. It teaches them in a fun and new way besides the traditional worksheet. I think all teachers should use Rock N Learn to enhance their classroom curriculum.
Another great hit with the Rock N Learn series As a Kindergarten teacher, these DVDs really help my students learn the basics in a fun way. I put them on while they are eating their snacks and they are always engaged in the sights and sounds of these clever DVDs. I've bought them all!
