Does it blend? Yes! Superstar Saga is a great blending of various genres into a really fun game. There is platforming, puzzle solving, and a RPG system with character growth, items and equipment, etc...
The game also has a really great sense of humor, laughing at itself and the Mario franchise at every turn.
