Product Description: Everything young builders need for pretend construction play. This 20-piece set includes a durable plastic hammer, saw, tape measure, nuts, bolts, wood board for "drilling," battery-powered drill and handy tool belt. Tools store in a sturdy 12" x 14" x 3.5" carrying case. Drill requires 2 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included).
Little Disappointed The tools are not the best quality. The pliers broke the first time our son played with them, the drill bit does not stay in the drill and the tool belt is too big for our 3 year old to wear. However, the pretend wood piece is pretty neat. It actually looks like you are cutting wood or drilling a hole. The caring case is convenient.
real tools, not disiponted... Overall this is a pretty good tool set for children. My son now wants his tools and not mine! My son is only 16mths and he is already discovered how to work the bolts and screw driver by him self. It comes with a durable plastic tool box as well as belt. The drill has forward and reverse and actually works with the drill board. Yes, the drill bit is not permanently attached, but he seems to prefer to put it together himself. I had actually tried to super glue it in. He took it apart.
I was expecting a better tool belt This was a christmas gift for my 2 year old son. He loves tools and the tools are great(I had to take away the screws for a few months so he doesn't choke on them). He really enjoys working drill! The toolbelt, however, was a complete disappointment. It is made of heavy plastic and doesn't even stay fastened to put it on my son! It is also way too big for his waist. I am now in search of a better tool belt. I guess for $27 I was expecting a little more.
Excellent first tool set for Daddy's Little Helper My nearly 3-year-old daughter received this as a gift - toy tools were requested because of her interest in Daddy's real ones. This set does not disappoint. From her "Oh my gosh!" upon opening the gift to playing with it every day it has been a winner. Daddy is especially impressed too.
The pieces are sturdy. They come apart and hold together where they are supposed to. The tape measure only allows measuring up to 24 inches, but it retracts well from being pulled all the way out. The drill drills "holes" in the piece of "wood", and it works Forward and Backward to screw and un-screw the nuts and bolts. The handles come off the two screw drivers to allow the phillips and flat head to attach to the working drill, allowing another way to work the screws into and out of the "wood". The hammer is solid but light, so it works well on the plastic nails but can't hurt any more than any other toy if used against someone. ;) The wrench and pliers have yet to see much use, but both seem like they will hold up to the use. The tool belt can't tighten enough to stay on my daughter's skinny waist, so it is sitting in the tool box waiting for another day. However, we fit all the pieces nicely onto it when trying it out the first day. The case itself is another sturdy piece. It holds all the pieces with extra room (we took the white plastic packaging out so all the pieces are tossed in there together).
This is a very inclusive set of tools for younger kids - boys or girls. I can see it being interesting up to at least age 5. Overall, a very good bet for a toddler/preschooler tool set.
A Good Buy. I bought this for my 3 yr old brother as his Christmas gift and he loved it. The tape measurer and hammer were his favorites until we put the batteries into the drill. The kit is realistic looking, fun, and not over-priced. The plastic seems sturdy enough.
My only complaints would be that the drill bit does come off easily, and after the 1st day the tape measurer broke (the tape might've been jerked out of its container though). The tool belt is made of a pliable plastic but I kind of expected it to be more pleather-ish. Also the black clasps on the case fell off but I dont know if it's supposed to do that. Other then that, I think it's a good buy and would recommend it.
