rhyme and discover book review Both my kids like this book. It holds their attention. However, my husband and I laugh everytime we hear the songs. The singing is awful and the lyrics are incorrect! The book has held up and overall I am pleased with it.
made it through 2 children!! My husband got this for my first daughter about three years ago. Now my younger daughter is enjoying it. It has been dropped countless times and survived lots of abuse. I personally think it's a great toy.
My daughter loves this book and I think its funny! My daughter is just about 1 year old and really enjoys this book, especially the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star page. She knows how to push the star to make a little sound that sounds like a magic wand, and she bounces to the music. The pages are not difficult for her to turn at all. There is an activity on each page for them to do, either something to push, pull, spin or slide. I agree with others that on some of the songs the singer is horribly off-key and even messes up the words a bit, namely on Old MacDonald Had A Farm, but I found that to be funny. The only think I do not like about the book is on Humpty Dumpty there is an egg cracking noise that I personally find a little morbid, but then again, many nursery rhymes are morbid. All in all I recommend this book. I find the imperfections to be entertaining and even a little kitschy! I definitely recommend it.
Broke after 2 weeks... This is a great little book. My son loved it; at least for as long as it worked.
After two weeks it started repeating words over and over like a scratched LP. I found that you had to hold it open at a certain angle for it to work. It sounded like it wasn't making an electrical connection somewhere.
Also, as others reviewers mentioned, the singer is annoying. She does shout more than sing.
I threw it away, which was sad, because my son absolutely loved it.
My daughter's favorite! When we first got this book for my daughter, she wasn't at all impressed with it. She is now 14 months old and it's her favorite toy. She loves to sit on the floor and turn the pages and play with all the buttons. It really keeps her occupied. My only 2 complaints are that 1. the pages are hard to turn. She gets really frustrated sometimes because she can't get the book open on her own. 2. the voice is TERRIBLE. The singer is horribly off key. Other than that, this is a great toy and it's great to take along on car rides. It keeps my daughter occupied while in her car seat.
