The turntable comes with a removable dust cover and an adapter for 45 RPM records. All the controls are located on the front panel for easy access.
The AT-PL50 features an internal stereo phono preamplifier, and an included cable adapter lets you connect the turntable directly to amplified speakers. More than worth the very reasonable price This is a very nice turntable for the money. It has performed well for me over the past month, and it's great to be able to hear my old vinyl once again! It's an attractive unit as well.
Nothing More, Nothing Less If you're looking for a simple to use, cheap turntable to play your records, this one will work. If you've never played a vinyl record in your life, this turntable takes care of starting and stopping the record automatically. Setup is minimal and you can go from opening the box to playing a record in less than 5 minutes.
If you're looking for a professional-style turntable with lots of features, this won't work for you. If you need the turntable to sit more than a foot from your receiver you will also need a cord extension. The cartridge isn't replaceable and there's no tone adjustment.
I've used this product every night for over a month now and I haven't had a single problem with it. It plays records, nothing more, nothing less.
You get what you pay for. This is a very simple record player worth the $40 some dollars. Its a great record player to get started on.
Solid Piece of Machinery This is a very solid piece of audio technology for a very reasonable price. This is great for someone who is just starting to get into the world of vinyl. Great sound right out of the box. Easy installation and operation.
Good for the price, but I have one question. This turntable is far from the best, but it's great for the price. I don't really have any complaints except one. I've read that this cartridge cannot be replaced. The manual says nothing about replacing the cartridge either. I've also found sites that sell upgrade kits for the AT-PL50 with a new belt, cartridge, and stylus. Does anybody know if it is truly possible to upgrade it? Thanks.
