Pamela Springfield is a great I thought Sleepaway Camp was a good movie but I heard the sequels werent that good. I love the cover to this movie; it says the movie is fun and not to be taken serious-like all horror movies should be. Pamela Springsteen does a excellent job as Angela, she played a pyscho perfectly. Not over the top but she had the right mix and I enjoyed watching her kill off the campers. Highly entertaining film and I highly recommend it to slasher fans, you wont be disappointed.
A terrible follow up I can think loads of reasons for watching horror movies. But to laugh isn't one of them. Now it does happen from time to time but that is not what I'm looking for. Sleepaway Camp 2 doesn't come close to the first. It starts with the killer Angela all grown up and still on the warpath. She works as a counselor in a camp killing all the naughty campers.
The seriousness is replaced with a comedic mood. There is no suspense or thrills whatsoever. NONE. Just random death. The killer Angela comes off as a female Freddy Krueger. Jampacked with one liners and sick ideas. The death scenes aren't bad, some come off pretty good. But the comedic nature just doesn't fit a slasher like this. Especially after the standard the first one set for this series.
Those who are fans of comedy horror will most likely enjoy this. But I'm not a fan of comedy horror. My slashers have to be more serious.
"Sleepaway Camp II" Is The Definition Of "80's Slasher Flick" There is no movie as hilarious, or as fun, or as excellent a sequeal as "Sleepaway Camp II - Unhappy Campers!"
The deaths are just as equally amazing as the other two movies, but there are some (such as the toilet death) that just will make anybody squirm! 80's slasher movies don't usually make me squirm, but that one death really made me squirm!!
If you loved the other Sleepaway Camp movies, you'll love this one! It is the best in the trilogy!
Too much comedy for me If you were expecting a real cheesy, humor-filled horror-fest with the first Sleepaway Camp and didn't get what you were looking for, then don't worry, because Sleepaway Camp 2 brings all those elements into the mix, and gratitutous sex and violence are present throughout. And if you're a big fan of comedy-horror films, you're in luck. But it does have one common thread from the first film, which is the death scenes are pretty cool. My personal favorite is the "crapper scene", as I like to call it! As for the storyline, its really not that bad, but don't get your hopes up..there is no shocking ending like that of the first film. I'm just kinda disappointed that they chose to go in this direction after the first movie. I'm not a big fan of comedy-horror movies, especially when its a sequel to a more seriously made movie. Again, I liked most of the other elements this movie brings, but there was way too much comedy for me in this one.
Good Stuff This is one of the better horror-comedies out there, IMO. It isn't exactly completely original, but it's different enough from other horror-comedies that it feels unique. The acting really isn't that bad, especially for a late-80's horror film. Angela in particular is a memorable character in the horror genre. And the comedy has some wonderfully offbeat humor. Oh yeah, and there are some interesting kills as well! The guys will especially like the performance of Valerie Hartman, I'm sure. If you like campy horror-comedy, definitely get this one.
