Description: Imagine if one day, out of the blue, your wildest dreams came true! That's exactly what happens to junior executive Larry Burrows (James Belushi -- TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS) when he bumps into a mysterious stranger (Michael Caine -- MISS CONGENIALITY, CIDER HOUSE RULES). Instantly, Larry's ho-hum life becomes his ultimate fantasy -- huge mansion, beautiful wife, cars galore. But before long, his new lifestyle isn't so enchanting. Ultimately, Larry discovers it's going to take a lot more than wishful thinking to get back to where he once belonged! Co-starring Linda Hamilton and comedian Jon Lovitz, MR. DESTINY is a delightful rags-to-riches comedy brimming with totally magical entertainment!
Light and enjoyable Yeap.. this a modern day knock off of "What a Wonder Life". In general, it was layed out well, the acting came off natural and the dialog was realistic. If you like this movie... check out "Groundhog Day."
In the genre of "what-if" movies... What fun! If you like "what-if-I'd..." movies ("Back to the Future" x3, "It's A Wonderful Life," "Frequency," etc.), you'll enjoy this light-hearted romp into Everyman's life. If you could change one thing in your past, would you?
Maybe I enjoyed it more by being a native of Winston-Salem, NC, where most of it was shot ("I know that street!"), but it's a fun run anyway. Glad it's finally out on DVD, as my VHS tape is showing a bit of wear.
Great movie Great cast and story line - appreciating what you have, not what might have been!
Classic This is a classic tale of wanting what you don't have when you should be happy for what you already have.
Jim is as funny as he usually is, and the story is very good.
Great feel good movie It will leave you feeling good. Its a romantic comedy that has a good message in it. The quality of the DVD is great
