LOTR Risk rulez! LOTR risk is one of the best strategy games I have encountered. It incluedes strategy theme based play and over all... It's Lord of the Rings! If you don't have this game you don't know what you're missing out on.
LotR Risk rules How much better could it get: Risk and Lord of the Rings together? Some drastic improvements in gameplay from original Risk and a great continuation of the movies if you're a fan of that.
LOTR Risk Review If you are a fan of Lord of the Rings then I would highly recommend this board game. It offers a very exciting way of playing RISK in the LOTR world. It has special rules, and game modes that are taylored to LOTR which makes it highly addictive and extremely enjoyable for 2, 3 or 4 players. 2 player game are not out of the question and at times can be the most enjoyable. The level of strategy and thought that goes into planning every attack and card play is very enjoyable. The more you play, the more you realize things that you could have done differently to turn the tide of the war of the ring! I have never played the classic version of RISK and after playing this Lord of the Rings version regularly throughout the summer I have no desire to even attempt regular RISK.
Again, highly recommended for huge LOTR fans and all fans alike. An Epic Game that involves, patience, tactics and strategy in Middle Earth. It is an experience that will bring you very close to the realism captured in the movies. One Ring to Rule them all, One Board Game to Rule them All.
The wifes review, what the other reviewers missed When I bought this for my husband at Christmas, I forgot that I would be the one that would have to play with him. 7 months later, I broke down and played with him. What the other reviewers did not mention, is that the instruction book is 20 pages long. You need to read all 20 pages before playing, and in some places the rule book is incomplete along with confusing. We made up a few rules. The games are also very long. Our first game was 4 hours, the second game was 3. You need to be very careful if you have dogs or babies, as the millon of tiny men will fall off the board at every bump or sneeze. Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but Strategico is faster, easier, and funner.
