Description: It's mad-capped antics vs. a mad-man's plan in this outrageous, slap-stick comedy from funnyman Yahoo Serious (Young Einstein). With laugh-a-minute gags, this over-the-top joke-fest follows the complete screw-up as he takes on his boss to save the worldand get the girl! Roger Crumpkin (Serious) is a happy-go-lucky guy who's employed at a massive egg factory as a Mr. Fix-Itwhose known better as Mr. Break-It. Things are completely sunnyside-up until his new boss, an evil do er who wants to dominate the world with nicotine-spiked eggs, takes over and scrambles everythingand everyone! And when Roger falls for Sunday Valentine (Helen Dallimore, 'three Stooges ), his boss sexy and ditzy moll, it sends this egg-pushing CEO on a cracked-up rampage to ensure that Mr. Accident's life ends up just that an accident!
Just bad.... I've always been a fan of unusual, slapstick style movies. Despite its flaws, I still consider Young Einstein to be hilarious. With that in mind I purchased Mr. Accident, thinking I was in for another under-rated treat. I was wrong. This movie is just bad.
The plot is vague at best, involving a maniacal businessman trying to get the world hooked on his 'special' eggs. There's some sub-plot about aliens that was ridiculously unnecessary and doesn't really go anywhere. I suspect it was thrown in simply to eat screen time. The humor feels forced, there's no real chemistry between Yahoo and his supposed love interest and most of the actors (including Yahoo) appear to be just going through the motions.
The only bright point I noticed in this otherwise boring film was watching David Field as the main antagonist. He played his over-the-top killer/maniacal businessman role perfectly. Think Richard Grant in Hudson Hawk. Only shorter and angrier. The few times I laughed were during scenes he was in. Unfortunately it was far too little to save this wretched film.
Avoid this movie. It's just not worth watching.
:) This movie makes you feel like you're watching a live-action cartoon :) Yahoo's character, Roger Crumpkin, and Helen Dallimore- as "Sunday Valentine"- are both really loveable characters. You want to see them "live happily ever after". They both have unusual quirks, which add to their likeability- and never quite seem to "fit in" with traditional society & it's way of love, dress, behavior. It is a delightful story and a story we all know, but done in a very unusual and creative way, you could easily say this story is like a FABLE.
I've never seen a more adorable couple in a movie, two people who compliment eachother so well- Roger takes things apart, She fixes things & puts-em back together. :)Both have a child-like optimism. There are little quirky things throughout the movie that make it really fun and unusual.
This movie also, in a comical way, deals with the issue of tobacco addiction, and pokes fun at the tobacco industry & at it victims. It pokes fun at the whole "Bar scene" - something I can totally relate to, for I do not like the bar scene myself. Sunday Valentine dresses like she came right out of a Japanese "Fruits" magazine, in Harajuku- Japan! :) I love their facial expressions and looks of suprise too, very physical comedy. I found this film absolutely charming and hilarious- my favorite of Yahoo's films so far. I hope he will make more someday, his humor style is unique and at times bizzare.
A good movie if you dont want to think this movie is supposed to be FUN not an oscar nominee. Make sure to keep in mind while watching it that yes it is over the top and "out there" but that is how its meant to be. The constumes are bright and the props and scenery pop out at you its a flashy funny movie and I think anyone with a sense of humor should give it a try.
Not one of Australias, but one if the ALL TIME WORST MOVIES Yahoo Serios made a name for himself when he made the classic Australian comedy "Young Einstein" then he slipped a little, but not completly with "Reckless Kelly". Both those movies gave Yahoo Serious a well placed name in Australian movie making.
Then comes out with this garbage. I was anxious to see this, and made up an excuse to take my nefue and neice to see this movie. And during the entire movie I can testify that I only made the smallest, un-heard "ha" once during the entire film!
I remember walking out thinking that that was one of the worst films ever, how it got made I can only guess is that the studio saw Yahoo's name and figured it would probably be as good as his last 2, but what suprises me more is I havent seen it on any top 100 Worst movies of all time lists. So let me be the first to say , it's in my top 20 worst movies of all time.
The movie was pathetic, the story had been done a million times before, oh, I got the humour, it just wasnt funny, the out-takes where not at all funny, and most of the time out-takes during the credits are what people stay to watch and laugh at, I was already walking out by that time, the kids wanted to watch them, but nope, still nothing funny at all!
If Yahoo ever releases his great comedy "Young Einstein" on DVD? I Recomend you check that out. Its a great comedy that is one of Australias best ever. If he releases "Reckless Kelly" then that one would be OK, but if you have no knowedge of who the real Ned Kelly is? you probably wouldnt get it at all.. but avoid this god awful movie. You dont see many reviews here on it, I wasnt even going to waste my time reveiwing it, but I felt it needed to be said that it is one of the worst movies of all time. well, worst attempts at comedy anyway. Even tho I went "ha" for as long as it took you to read that one time during the film, even the kids themselves only laughed about 5 times.
If Yahoo is going to make another movie after this, then he has some serious thinking to do before he makes it, every reveiw in the country at the time gave it a 1 star vote. I wish I had of taken there reveiws as right, for once in my life! Not many times to I see reveiws written and fully agree with them, but I did on this movie, its a 1 star, pethetic attempt from Yahoo who slipped into a deep dark hole with this un-original, seen it before, pethetic attempt at a comedy - he should have stuck to that formula he was doing with fammiluer charactors like in his previous films and re-aranged it to an almost parody like atmosphere which made them funny. This movie had none of that, and failed big time, it flopped in theatres, it flopped in the rentals, and every single reveiw never gave it more then 1 and a half stars, and the ones he gave it a half star more then it deserved are just beeing too kind to Yahoo Serious.
Hilarious Well, young Ryan Abshire, sometimes the best humor goes on when you're thinking like a five year old. You must not like funny movies then, if you didn't enjoy Going Overboard. Yahoo Serious is a genius.
"I hardboiled myself a six-pack and I'd like you to have it."
This movie is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. If you don't like it, I suggest you dip yourself in salt and launch yourself into a pit of male horses, and see if you find that humorous. If not, you might just be sane.
