Amazon.com:
The first word you hear on There's a Poison Goin' On is "kill." It's a word delivered without much conviction and without any context; it's a word that makes you question whether the once-vaunted PE will ever be relevant again. Fear not. The rest of the first track, "Dark Side of the Wall: 2000," is a dense, trippy soundscape that shows Terminator X's production has moved with the times. There's plenty here to like: "Do You Wanna Go Our Way???" is PE's strongest single in almost a decade, owing both to Chuck D's passion and to X's backing track; "Crash" owes its piano-loop melodicism to the Wu Tang Clan's RZA and finds good use for Flavor Flav's incessant energy, as does "Kevorkian," which features a great stutter-step beat. But the barren "Last Mass of the Caballeros" quickly wears out its welcome, as does the too-busy-to-get-down-to-business "World Tour Sessions." But the highest praise that can be given here is that, though PE has moved with the times, they really haven't changed that much from the days of Fear of a Black Planet: when Chuck spits, "Shit! I'm the reverse of jiggy," you know he's speaking for the whole group. --Randy Silver

5 out of 5 starsClassic
Public Enemy's seventh album is a classic. It is one of my favorite albums by them. Chuck D's lyrical attack has never been better. The production is on top. This album was originally released online which finally kicked PE off Def Jam. It would later be released and i'm glad. There are alot of good political songs. Favorites include Are You Gonna Go Our Way???, LSD, Here I Go, Crash, Crayola, First The Sheep Next The Shepherd?, Last Mass Of The Caballeros, What What, Kevorkian, and Swindlers Lust. Highly Highly Recommended.

5 out of 5 starsGreat music
Just good PE. I don't think I have ever heard Chuck so angry before. At first I didn't even think it was his voice. It's lower and alot angrier. Good cd, lyrics still straight on, but the music didn't get to me at first. After a few more listens it took hold, and now it's probablly my favorite PE cd.

5 out of 5 starsChuck drops another classic
This was the second PE cd I ever bought, it holds a special place in my heart because of that. This CD is soo good. Flava flav and chuck hold it down.

4 out of 5 starsNot as good as 'Nation',slightly better than 'Black Planet'
Did you really want P.E. to go out with that 'MUSE SICK N HOUR MESS AGE' trash? Of course not. Now without pressure of Def Jam,P.E. are as free as PRINCE,put PROFESSOR GRIFF back in the group, let's do another 'IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK',NOT! But this is a good album tho'.

"Do You Wanna Go My way???","Crayola" (very humorous song),FLAVA FLAVA's "What What" and "First The Sheep Next The Shepherd?" are worth a listen. But you will NOT be discouraged at all with this hot P.E. CD. The 'noise' is back!!!

4 out of 5 starsPE is in full effect!
After having listened to this album for the first time I was a little bit disappointed, but after listening to it for a few times I began to like it. "World Tour Session" and "Do you wanna go our way? " are great songs, but this CD is no comparison to the "He got Game" soundtrack Public Enemy did (Their best album ever).
