5 out of 5 starsGreat movie
This is a great movie I enjoy watching this movie with my cousins who also enjoyed it. We love the song with the birdss and got wild and crazy over that song. But my younger cousins got kind of scared of the part with the owel but there okay. I think this movie has alot of teaching to get out on your own an take care of yourself thats what these 3 kids had to do in the movie.

GREAT MOVIE

2 out of 5 starsIf you want your six year old to have nightmares for a week, this movie will do it!
Grandma bought this disc for our collection, and I innocuously put it in the player one wintry Friday evening for my four children. Being busy doing some cleaning, I find my four year old daughter tugging on my shirt sleeve, tears in her eyes, asking - "You won't die, will you daddy?"

It turns out that the plot of this wonderful 1990's film hinges on an entire town of cute and fuzzy animals being killed by a toxic gas spill. I'm just trying to imagine the discussion to green light this project.

Writer, "So the cute animals go on an adventure after their entire town, everything they know, love and trust, are killed because irresponsible humans cause an awful chemical accident!"

Film Company, "Sounds great, didn't that happen in India during the 1980's?"

Writer, "Yeah, 1984 in Bhopal, it was my inspiration. So, one of the cute animals inhales the gas, so the only living adult, the kids' teacher, sends them out into the wild by themselves to find a cure for the little girl!"

Film Company, "Fantastic, children alone in the dangerous world always sells, maybe we can get Macaulay Culkin for this."

So the point of the story is that tragic accidents can happen that kill your entire family, and your entire town, so your teacher makes you face the danger of predatory animals and human exterminators. If you fail, the little girl dies because you weren't good enough, as a young child, to save her. But in the end, you work together to build a cool flying machine...

Both my 6 year old son, and 4 year old daughter were totally freaked out by the flick, having nightmares for up to a week. Maybe they are just too sensitive, but I recommend spending your limited DVD dollars on a different movie. Older kids might like it better, and the message, although very heavy handed of human irresponsibility, is popular in some social circles - so two stars.

4 out of 5 starsa memory with my granddaughter
When my granddaughter was younger she always wanted to watch this movie.Although she watched other movies she would still watch this when she came to visit.I in no way, nor did she find this movie boring. It had imagination and compassion. It showed friends helping friends in a time of need and in a time of danger. It showed how to be brave and caring. It showed how to rise upon tragedy.I have been trying very hard to find this on DVD to give to my granddaughter as a memory. She will be 13 and I know she and I will have this memory of watching this forever in our hearts. It was time shared with her.

5 out of 5 starsOrdering from Amazon
I was very pleased with how easy it was to find and order things on Amazon. My order was delivered on time from Amazon. The DVD that I ordered was given as a gift and the child loves it. I have used Amazon in the passed and I will continue to order.

3 out of 5 starsA decent ninties movie
This is and old movie that has been around for a long time in it's theatrical form. This movie was released in theratical real form all the way back in 1993 when I was about seven years old. However for reason I do not know it took about eight years after it was first released before it was again reformated again and released in VHS format in early 2001. A word of warn even though this movie got a G rating it has some parts in it that might be to intense for kids under the age of 7. This movie is about a group of animals that live in a place called Dapplewood. The movie start off nice but then things get dark. After the young animals walk on to the road a young Hedhog named russel survive be run over my a car luckely the cars wells don't touch him. Shortly after world a chemical truck drive down the road. Pops its tire and piece of glass from a broken bottle. The truck flips over and a deadly gas is released into the woods. The old bager Cornelius sensing something is wrong. He returns to there home to find half the forrest dead. The young badger Micheal runs in to see here family. Machiel parents lay at there table dead by the gas. The young mouse Abigal draggs the young unconcus Michel out of the burrow. Now the life of the beloved michel hangs by a friend. Here three friends Russel the Hedge Hog, Abigal the mouse and you Edgar the mole must make a heroic quest to save micheal from certain death. Will they succed or will Michael like here parent's be lost forever. This movie has some decent musical numbers but it was not as intense as some of the movies that came before it. If you like this for those of you ages ten or older I also recommend Secret of Nimh 1 and 2 and the two Furnegally movies.
