Product Description:
When Troy White’s mom gets a job with the Atlanta Falcons, Troy demonstrates to star linebacker Seth Halloway his uncanny ability to call football plays before they happen. With Seth’s skill and Troy’s genius, the Falcons could be unstoppable—if only the coaches would take Troy seriously!

5 out of 5 starsthe best review ever
The book I am reading now is called Football Genius. My book represents life on a everyday basis. Some people say a sport is everything you do. For example, a sport is something you do constantly with a team or even by yourself. Sports bring out happiness, sadness, anger, and even love. My book tells you about giving your life to a sport.

In Football Genius Troy is my favorite character. He is a football player, but lazy. He does not like seeing people sad or lonely. This book started on a sunny day. Troy and his team are in the final four. Troy lives with his stepdad and cousin, but his stepdad got into a car accident. When Troy's cousin told him that his dad was in a car accident. Troy immediately started to cry. Troy's cousin "said it will be okay." Troy "said no it wont. Troy's cousin said "are going to the championship game", Troy said, no no its not going to be a game because I quit. Troy's mom came and a long talk with troy, then went to the hospital. His stepdad broke his leg, broke his arm and damaged his shoulder. Troy felt better and went to the championship game with a smile.

The audience for the book I am reading is all people that like sports. I know what the audience is by age groups. The genre of my book is sports fiction and I can tell because it is called football and football is a sport. This book is similar to other books from the genre I have read because all the other books I read are sports fiction.

The book that I have now is an amazing book. The book that I had similar to the book I have now is that there are both sports books. But the difference was one was a football book and the other was a baseball book. Even though football genius is fiction its to non-fiction books like mickey and me. It's similar because the person or team has to overcome something.

One strength that I had in my book was when this boy and his football team wanted to win the championship game that they did not win in years. Something I didn't like is when the football team let the other football team win all three years. Another strength is when Troy stood up for his team and told the other team they are the bigger losers it's who have the biggest heart. The last strength was from the other team by telling Troy and his team sorry for always bragging over a win. Troy and his team said apology accepted.

My final opinion of this book is this is a book that inspires you to read more. Even if you don't like reading you'll like reading this one. This is a good book and a huge lesson about life.

3 out of 5 starsHe could-go-all-the-way--Not Quite
Tim Green has written some compelling adult fiction. Trying his hand at mid-grade I expected interesting characters and a compelling storyline. He delivered on both. Troy, Tate, and Nathan are the main kids in the story with Tate stealing the shop. Troy has esp-like ability to predict defensive plays based on patterns of calls. He can do this for any level game. He's also a gifted quarterback who rides the bench of his team because the coach's son is the starter, and a bad one at that.

These great storylines are great. Unfortunately, the story never seems completely told as promised. Instead, the book revolves around whether Troy can convince the Atlanta Falcons of his gift, and what he offers. As for playing for his own team, the resolution cheats the reader by having the results occur off stage.

The book is full of inside information about the workings of an NFL team that any sports fan will enjoy. The characters make the book worth reading, just adjust expectation to focusing on the relationships among the friends, and between Troy's mother and Seth, the Atlanta Falcon's middle linebacker--not how Troy's gift might influence the Falcon's chances for a superbowl or his chance for leading his own team to victory.

4 out of 5 starsOne of my faves!
A wonderful book complete with a little romance and (my favorite sport) football!! But you don't have to enjoy or know anything about footbal to enjoy this book and there's not too much romance (guys would still enjoy it, in fact there's barely any romance)!!!!

5 out of 5 starsa marvelous book
Football Genius is a marvelous book for boy's 5-8 grades. Once I picked up the book I could not put it down because it is that good. I would give football genius 5 out of 5 stars. I kmow that once you start you won't be able to put it back down becaus it is that good of a book. So sit down, relax, and get ready to enjoy.

5 out of 5 starsBest Sports book In Some Time
Troy is a young kid in Georgia struggling with having no dad and being second string quarterback behind the coaches son. Troy has a gift of being able to know what plays a team is going to run next. He can tell this in any game be it high school, college or pro. His mom gets a job with the Atlanta Falcons and Troy thinks this is his one chance to make something of himself. Read to see what mischief Troy and his friends can get into to try to make his dream come true. A great insight into the World of the NFL by a former NFL player. I cant wait for his next book Football Hero.
