Product Description: IDW continues their re-presentation of the entire First Comics GrimJack saga, in order. This sixth volume covers issues #31-37 written by creator John Ostrander and drawn by Tom Mandrake.
The DEATH of GRIMJACK.... and it's only the beginning!! This trade paperback collects Grimjack issues 31 through 37. Writer co-creator John Ostrander continues the strange and violent saga of John Gaunt a.k.a. GRIMJACK, a sort of merc/barbarian/wizard/hard-boiled detective, in the trans-dimensional city of Cynosure where the laws of physics can change if you cross the street. Ostrander is joined by artist Tom Mandrake for the story arc that leads Gaunt to save the ghost/woman he loves through great sacrifice, but not before he learns that he has killed a son he didn't know he had and events are set into motion that ultimately lead to his death. This volume ends solidly with the inclusion of "the Revenge of Grimjack" and Muden's Bar featuring "Eulogies".
But it ain't the end of Grimjack, its only the beginning (watch for vol. 7 and 8 of these collections). At a point in a comic series where things might be settling down into a rut or becomes predictable, Ostrander shakes things up by killing the title character (of course since then this device has been used by DC several times). Many old enemies return and many subplots unfold as the series moves into a new era.
Original series co-creator and artist Tim Truman does glorious covers for this series of reprints.
