Product Description:
Absolutely adorable! On the surface the story is silly and fun for kids, but for adults it's a clever critique of modern society. Absolutely adorable! Peanutbutter is the hardworking office cat, and Jeremy is the troublemaking crow.

5 out of 5 starsSweet Pea
Peanut Butter and Jeremy, a classic story of an overtly sweet cat befriending a bitter crow. I love this book, it is charming and silly. James Kochalka does some of his best work through cats.

This is book was not written for children. I was appalled by another parent's warning, "Don't be fooled by the cute cat on the cover and get this book for your child." People who buy books for their kids based on the cover are just as bad as people who take six year olds to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (just because they think it's a kid's book). As a parent, I think it's shameful the way some people go on auto pilot then get offended by what their children are exposed to. Your JOB is to know what your kids are reading, watching, doing. That's your JOB.

Anyway, sorry to everyone else. This book is great. It's light and refreshing and makes me happy to be alive.

1 out of 5 starsBAD BAD BAD CROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS BOOK IS NOT FUNNY. I read a lot of comics such as Calvin and Hobbes,Captain Underpants, and the Far Side series . But if this is PB and Jeremy's best,I don't even want to lay eyes on their worst. Anyway, it's about this really sweet cat who wants to make friends with this crow. The crow is mean and insults the cat. I suggest if you love cats very much,(and love to laugh)not to read this book.

4 out of 5 starsA graphic novel with laugh out loud charm
Cartoonish James Kochalka's are a delight. They juxtapose the naive kitty Peanut Butter and the obnoxious, untrustworthy crow Jeremy.

Even though she's just a normal sleepy housecat, Peanut Butter has delusions of being an office worker filing papers on the Flumdummer account. She's prone to wearing hats and ties.

Jeremy is the hateful crow that lives in a nest outside Peanut Butter's window. Jeremy will do anything to steal a hat. In their first meeting, he tricks Peanut Butter into buying his nest with a "million dollar view" for a million dollars. When she protests that she doesn't have any dollars, he throws a fit.

Some scenes can be mildly disturbing -- like the incident where Jeremy offers to help Peanut Butter remove her hat that's stuck over her eyes by shooting her with a handgun. Luckily, she escapes unharmed.

I particularly like one-page introductions that Kochalka has drawn to introduce each story. For the longest story, Peanut Butter warns that maybe you should pee before you start it. Jeremy adds, "If you're a baby!"

It's really just impossible to describe the unique appeal of this book. Use the "Search Inside" to get a peek.

1 out of 5 starsIt only got 1 star because 0 wasn't an option
My 8 year old son checked this book out in the children's section of our library. I read several of the stories and was horrified, especially when I found out my son had already read the whole thing, thinking it would at some point be funny, redeeming, or something. It wasn't. This is not appropriate for children. So, then, how does it rate as a dark humor comic for adults? It's pretty sad in that department also. It's neither well drawn nor humorous. I guess Mr. Kochalka has gained some sort of cult following for a publisher to keep paying him to draw this mindles drivel, but I fail to see what could possibly interest anyone. If I had to take a guess, I would have thought that Mr. Kochalka was a really dark, disturbed 13 year old boy doodling crude comics during class to pass the time until he could drop out of school. It takes that sort of mentality to have a crow threatening a cat with a handgun. I didn't notice much plot or story line to redeem the crude drawing, either. Buyer beware, and please, don't get it for your kids just because there's a cute cat on the cover.

5 out of 5 starsI laughed, I cried, it moved me
Okay, so maybe I didn't cry but I did laugh! Following the adventures of the business cat peanut butter (or peanut bottom as she is refered to by Jeremy) and the very greedy and hat-obsessed cat is quite amuzing. This book is original and absurd and I love it on that level, but also because it's light and addicting. Highly recommended!
