Detailed Character Record This character record contains a bit more information than similar products I've owned but slightly less flavor. The book starts with campaign information on the inside cover before getting into your character information. There's tons of room to describe your characters physical appearance and his personality. After that is covers his Home World and History. It allows plenty of room to add in details of your Inquisitors information and his Retinue, so you can have easy access to your boss and his resources without having to look all around in your notes. It has a good reference for all the ranks your take and the advancements purchased from each rank. Throw in a table of all the actions you can take in a round and descriptions of them and you're golden. A chart for any cybernetics you take and then it gets into the Combat Profile (basically the character sheet) followed by a listing of all the skills. Tons of room for Talents, then a spot for special abilities, a page for gear, a page for henchmen, two pages for psychics, add in insanity, corruption and dark pact info and you're only left with two pages for a journal and notes to cover the major missions and plot hooks. The book ends (as per usual) with a nice little section to cover character death. That's a lot of information and will hopefully let your players (or you) get into their characters better and keep track of information better. I particularly like the action table, I have one in front of my on the GM screen, but having one in front of the players is great. It also avoids a lot of passing around the rule book if everyone doesn't have one.
Not worth the cost So I am a pretty big fan of the Dark Heresy stuff. Very excited the FFG is taking over the line since BI dropped it. (A real shame) but this particular supplement wasnt what I expected nor will I find it all that useful. Basically it is about the size of a regular 8 1/2 x 11in piece of paper folded in half - forming a small character "booklet" as an extensive character record sheet.
I could see using something like this if I had a long running character that I wanted to immortalize after years of play - but I would rather just use a regular character sheet than this thing. Especially since the PDFs of the character sheets - both color and b&w are available for free on BI's web site.
