Speaking generally about the entire series so I don't give anything away... Lets just say that I honestly can't remember the last time words and images had this big of an impact on me. I work at a comic book store and I read everything. Honestly. My @$$ is kicked. This book has made the biggest impact on me than ANY other series I have read. YOU HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE THING. Kirman slows down the story from time to time but only if its necessary, and then pulls you right back in. You are in good hands. This book has EVERYTHING! If this review is the one that talks you into reading the series... your welcome =o) trust me.. you will want to thank me later.
Hardcover 4TW I really love getting the hardcover edition of this series. I can wait till they come out, I'm patient, because I'll just forget about it for a while, and then hear about it on [...] that a new one came out. I think it's a great way to read this series because just purchasing the small soft cover books just doesn't last long enough. In this way, you sorta get your fill of the series for a couple weeks by reading it over the course of two days. This new edition to the series is fantastic, I love how well it captures what I want zombie apocalypse movies to be. And this edition does not get any less real than any of the others, some main characters die, some become disabled and there's a lot more interaction with outside forces in volume 4 that really messes things up for the main characters. Definitely a great buy.
First book to ever make me tear up This book is definitly one of the top of the series. Its great if you've read the others...part 3 gets a little weird but it makes up for it in this one...trust me for any person whos read the walking dead this one is a def must have..
Classics of the genre Hard to rate this book. It basically a most classic zombie thriller and there is next to none competition. No movies or other zombie comics can compare in the sheer length and scope of the story.
