Product Description: Life with Grace is an uplifting collection of stories, written by average people, of experiences and events that have made a diiference in their daily life. In this simple, yet inspiring book, the reader will find poetry for those seeking solace, song lyrics to inspire, as well as the majority of the book full of spiritual, reflective, and enlightening stories. The beauty of this collection is that each page will bring the reader a higher awareness of every day experiences that may have already happened to themselves ~ and remind them that we are all spiritual beings, with spiritual stories to tell.
A good resource This is a wonderful blend of anecdotal stories and uplifting poems. Some of the stories reach into the heart and have a nurturing, healing quality. A helpful collection to have around.
Great! I have to say, I was a bit skeptical about getting this book, as there are so many "chicken soup" type books out there already.
To be honest, I was very surprised and impressed with the content, the variety, and the overall commitment from all the writers who have really taken the time to create really good work.
As with any book, I didn't relate to all the stories, but the ones that I did, such as 'Become, Become,' "Roadside Angel,' 'God is Where,' and especially 'Guru Ka Langar' really hit home for me. The stories, poetry and song lyrics will remind you of who you are, not from a feel-good perspective, but from the larger picture.
Most of you who read my reviews know I like Ms. Webb's books, so a good review from me would be no surprise. Ms. Webb has collected a great group of writers, an important group of spiritual people ~ all who have searched, and maybe still are seeking ~ but who have written for "us."
A nice book to read by the fireplace, on a rainy day, at your country house, even on your lunch break at work. I promise you will find this book rewarding, redeeming, and most importantly, something you go back to reaffirm your sense of who you are.
Good compilation for everyday life If you have read any of my other reviews, you know I am a fan of Paula Webb. In her latest book, she has assembled an ordinary group of people, from all walks of life, to share their personal and spiritual experiences.
I was pleased to get a copy of this book before it became public, and I have to say, it was a joy to explore. I didn't read it from front to back, rather, I just opened it to a page and began reading whatever story was in front of me.
The events listed in this book are real, inviting, and most importantly, are written in a way that anyone can relate to. I highly recommend this book for your church group classes, your women's groups, your book clubs, and any other group discussions. It will make you think that you, too, have been touched ~ by an angel, or even God ~ at times in your life as well. I especially liked the poetry, and the artwork by Robin Morini.
I hope Ms. Webb produces more of these types of collections!
Grace upon Grace... As a book seller of books primarily focused on life enhancement, we were pleased to review this collection. The stories written are events that people, just like you and me, have experienced in their lives ~ events that either 1) changed their lives in a most positive way, or 2) strengthened their understanding of God, their Higher Power, or their sense of personal spirituality.
The beauty of this book is that none of the stories are written by 'famous' people. In reviewing this book, we were grateful not to read one more movie star's "story" ~ rather, the stories are things that happened to the average person, possibly the gal in line next to you at Starbucks, or the tired-looking mother of three at the grocery store, or maybe even a fellow co-worker.
Stories that are real, inviting, and most of all inspiring ~ reminding us that there is a God, or a Higher Power, or a Creator that is, indeed, in our lives in every moment ~ if we just believe it, then we can see It. The stories in this collection show that.
