Although there are fantasy-themed drawing books on the market, this book is unique because it features a wide range of fantasy subjects rather than focusing on only one type of creature (such as dragons or fairies). It also sets itself apart from similar books with its helpful information on combining graphite pencil with other media, such as charcoal and black watercolor paint or ink. In addition, this extraordinary book features dragons and other mythological creatures from around the world, including those originating in Egyptian, Irish, Norse, and Greek mythology-whereas most other fantasy books include generic, non-regional subjects.
A good book, but... First, I did not order this book from this website, but I feel I should review it anyway. The book has great information in it, easy to use, and lots of variaty. But to me, some of the creatures were represented badly. They were cartoony, or they just didnt flow right.
DRAGONS BOOK WAS BIGGER AND MORE DETAILED THAN I WAS EXPECTING. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY. MY CHILDREN ABSOLUTLEY LOVE THE BOOK AND ARE ABLE TO DRAW MUCH BETTER SINCE USING IT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANY ONE INTERESTED IN DRAWING.
Dragon fun. This is a fun book for drawing dragons and other fantasy mythological creatures. I didn't care for the artist's interpretation of some of the characters, as they were a little cartoonish for my style. However, I was expecting that from looking at the cover, and this book held up to my expectations and more. He covers a wide variety of mythological creatures from around the world in step by step format. I even found myself interested in the brief explanations of each creatures' origins, and wanting to know more. Overall, it was a fun book that can spark your imagination, and inspire some creative drawing.
