You can't go wrong with Badger! Badger is a superhero parody replete with political, topical and above all comical elements of the highest order. These stories are classics which deserve a far broader audience. Issues treated are animal rights, insanity, terrorism, gangbangers, super-villains, occultism - oh, and martial arts, crazy humor and fantastic word puns. In short, outrageously outlandish entertainment, perhaps particularly well-suited for fans of superhero comics, but also for those who find superhero comics ridiculous.
The reprint collection is long overdue and will hopefully help Badger find a new and bigger audience. Writer Mike Baron has an inimitable style marked by seriousness and humor at the same time, and with plenty of social commentary. Even though Baron is somewhat oriented towards republicanism and self-sufficiency, he has his own unique socio-political outlook which also contains much to entertain those (like myself) who may not agree with his stance. I find his work immensely entertaining, intelligent and enjoyable and will recommend it to just about anyone.
