Product Description: Feeling the weight of personal and professional rejection, stylish one-eyed reporter Toguchi embraces his dark side. The horrors he's both documented and participated in haunt him also, and a "perfect storm" of frustration and anger builds until he resolves to pull off a violent "performance art show" in order to get the widespread attention he feels he deserves. Unfortunately, this involves killing a lot of people, transforming the happy-go-lucky guerrilla journalist into a modern monster! Crazed Toguchi also makes some sensitive information public, enraging Zenitsu, another unbalanced villain with a knack for murder and a resistance to pain. Kazuhiko Amamiya arrives at the scene a little too late, but Amamiya - our favorite multiple personality detective - feels that there's some hope yet, and he risks his life to negotiate with Toguchi.
:WE arE...ThE CHilDRen...OF lucY MonOStOne!: Be warned, readers: the fourth volume of the "MPD Psycho" manga series is a non-stop roller-coaster ride that's as sick and shocking as it can get. By depicting in meticulous detail the sweeps of rapid movement and intense emotional outburts (partially provided by screaming bold typeface) Shou Tajima's fine line illustrations portray stylized violence at it's best. For the first time, the crimson spotlight is shifted to a supporting character who can simultaneously extract alienation and empathy from hoards of hungry audiences. It seems that Kikuo Toguchi's down-and-out life has taken a turn for the worse: he has little money, his girlfriend just walked out on him, and he's stricken with a cataract that may cause permanent blindness in his one remaining eye. Sick and tired of suffering years of rejection and ridicule, the struggling journalist finally snaps. Armed with an arsenal of guerilla weapons, Kikuo decides in manic haste to turn the South Tower of the Tocho Observatory into a warzone. Broadcasting his deeds live over the Internet, he creates a splatter-filled performance art show by gunning down hostages, riot police officers, and pratically everyone else in his path. Then, when he shamelessly airs photographs and records detailing the identities of 7 new criminals listed on the bar code list (information which happens to be part of the Gakuso Society's files), an enraged and trigger-happy Zenitsu adds to the body count by slaughtering Kikuo's mother and father. This venomous grudge match ultimately reaches a catastrophic climax on the roof of the building, where Toguchi and Zenitsu attempt to eliminate each other in a helicopter hailstorm of blood and bullets. The only survivor who will walk away from this carnage is a male teenager named Tetora Nishizono...
