Cute and Adorable It was a cute doll. Even though the book was a book for the doll itself, it was extremely likeable for the right age group of little girls.
Should be called Thumbelina I must admit I was ignorant to the American Doll series and how much they cost, ($300.00 per doll). However, I thought this 9 inch doll would have some substance to it. It was so small it could have come in a McDonald's Happy Meal. The box at my door from Amazon was like that of one containing 1 VHS video. I thought there had to be a mistake. There was, but the error was mine.
I was giving this the next day to my Grand daughter, age 5 1/2. I didn't have time to replace it with something more substantial, so I gave it to her with a card saying there was more to come. I ended up getting her the complete Shirley Temple DVD's, which she loves.
But, I also must tell you that when she opened the doll at her party, she was so delighted. She got many gifts that night, but this doll was the only one she carried through-out the night and wouldn't put down.
The doll is charming, dressed oh-so impecably, with great details. Even has working buckles on her shoes. Very cute indeed! Her mother tells me that she is still playing with it daily after 3 weeks.
So, I guess it wasn't so terrible after-all.
But, buyers beware of the very small sized doll that it is.
Unbelievable Deal!!! I purchased several of the Kit dolls to use as party favors for my granddaughter's upcoming birthday party. I was pleasantly surprised and amazed that I was able to purchase these dolls new, in the actual American Girl boxes, for approximately half price. WOW!!! What a find and a deal!!! This will surely help make her party all the more wonderful!!! Thank You!!
An affordable American Girl Xmas My daughter has an 18 inch Just Like You doll and wanted more. I ordered these mini dolls and they are perfecr for her, she is 4 years old. She also got the Barbie doll house for Xmas and these dolls are perfect for that house. She calls them Barbies kids!
Collect all the dolls for less My daughter loves the mini dolls. Bought this one for her birthday. The entire collection of mini dolls runs about the price of one 18" doll. The dolls are of course smaller and so contain fewer details than the 18" doll. However, they are the typical American Girl quality. The clothes mimic the larger dolls. The mini book only contains the first three chapters of the larger book so you may want to consider purchasing the books if your daughter enjoys them.
