Book Description: Today's knitters are chic, smart-and busy. Although they love to knit and enjoy making gifts for family and friends, they're constantly faced with the challenge of finding enough time to actually finish what they've started. Last-Minute Knitted Gifts solves this problem. Joelle Hoverson, owner of Purl, the hip knitting supply store in downtown Manhattan, has designed more than 30 fun, fresh, beautiful patterns, most of which can be made in less than ten hours-some in as little as two!
Known for her keen sense of color, Hoverson includes instructions for classic gifts like baby booties and bonnets, sweaters, and scarves, plus imaginative options like a cashmere tea cozy, a felted yoga mat bag, floor cushions, and a poncho-surely something for everyone on the gift list. And to make each present extra-special, Hoverson offers easy tips on how to incorporate knitting and other yarn embellishments into the gift wrap. EXCELLENT!!! This is an owner alone for the addictive Chevron scarf, but the other patterns are just amazing. Easy and fun to knit - and items that your friends ( & you) will actually want to own! I LOVE this book - one of my favs. You will find yourself going back to it over and over and always finding yet another little nugget to knit!
fun book While this isn't my favorite book ever, I found it fun. And the ideas are really good for last minute gifts. Most of the patterns are very simple and fast to knit, hence the name. While there is nothing ground breaking in the book, it delivers exactly what it promises.
I also like the time guide. It is divide into chapters according to how long the projects take to make, which is helpful.
Nice photographs, mediocre patterns Okay, so does a tassel or pom-pom count as a gift? Probably not, unless the recipient is a cat.
The nice thing about this book is that it's organized according to how many hours it would take to knit various gifts.
excellent reference there are a ton of awesome gift ideas in here, and even some great ideas for yourself as well. i use this book as a reference for birthday and christmas gifts several times a year and have owned this book for about two years. lots of good mileage out of this!
Lots of great projects! I highly recommend this book. There are great projects that are very popular such as the hourglass sweater. A nice addition to your knitting library.
