Great Book! This is a great 'playbook' to really experience all of the ideas in Lynn Grabhorn's 'Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting' book. Lynn was a student of Esther & Jerry Hicks and she expands on the Abraham teachings with practical exercises. These exercises have the potential to liberate us from the negative programmed thinking and emotions. Everything is energy. Our emotions translate into energy that attracts and repels depending on whether we are flowing positive or negative energy. Lynn presents the work in a fun and light way. This work is life changing and I highly recommend this book.
Law of Attraction made fun and easy This is truly an amazing inspiring coffee table size book of 277 pages. Normally I am not into exercise type books where the author suggests you make a list on a piece of paper and then write down this and that, that type of thing. This exercise book though is totally different, and a lot of fun, hence the author has entitled it a "PLAY" book rather than an "WORK" book. Because the suggested writing exercises are fun to do and serve the purpose of identifying the way we are flowing energy in reaction to external events in our life and identifying the contrast between what we DON"T want in our life so we can flow energy towards what we DO want in our life. As Lyn states quite clearly this is NOT processing our stuff or clearing blocks as that is only focusing on and flowing energy to don't wants. Once we identify a don't want then it is simply as the author puts it "flip switching" to what we desire, this is covered in great detail througout the book. Sure, the message is repetitive through the book and so it should be as the author has a "sock it to you" approach in her humorous and fun writing style. The author comes from perspective that we are all God's in form, that we all one, all is interconnected and for those who are spiritually minded like myself this sits very with me. The book is divided into 12 chapters, each being a tenet, or metaphysical principle concerning our true Divine Nature. For example chapter 3 covers information on the principles of the Law of Attraction and the fact we are electromagnetic beings and further goes into how we are vibrating is how we are attracting. Excerpt: " The way we think .... causes the way we feel .... the way we feel .... causes the way we vibrate .... and the way we vibrate - IS HOW WE ATTRACT." "LIKE frequencies (vibrations) attract". Sure, this is written in all the books on the LOA, Here the author puts much emphasis on it's our FEELINGS that create the magnetic pull of our desires rather than thought alone, hence many do affirmations ad infinitum yielding little result as the intense feeling component doesn't accompany the thought emanation. It is our THOUGHTS coupled with FEELINGS, FEELINGS, FEELINGS that create our reality. The book has amazing graphics and layouts for the exercises along with comprehensive written text. At the end of each chapter are four pages for your personal notes and a lovely meditation based around activating your Inner Divine Being. This more than just another LOA book, if you are wanting to improve the quality of your relationships, have greatly improved health, more money, a better job, enhanced well-being or whatever and you've done affirmations until you're blue in the face and frustrated nothing is changing despite your best efforts then maybe this is the book for you. As the author suggests regarding taking Action, take Inspired Action only, so sit down, shut up, and LISTEN to inner guidance whether or not this book will of benefit to you. Thanks! Lyn for writing such an inspiring, fun, informative book.
Not the best choice for spiritual beginners If you believe that other people are to blame for your life situations, then this might be a good book to read and use. It starts with the assumption that every reader is in that state and needs to get out of it, and introduces some good concepts to chew on.
However, this isn't the best or only book for getting these concepts, partly because of that assumption on the author's part that everyone using her play book is starting in the gutter, figuratively speaking. Another, much more excellent work for beginners and people intermediate on the path is Ingrid Katal's What is Your Honor Code?. Ingrid is much more neutral on the suject of where you, the reader, might be at, and instead provides tools that allow you to make your own decisions about where you are and where you want to go.
In addition, anyone reading any of Seth's books (particularly The Nature of Personal Reality: Specific, Practical Techniques for Solving Everyday Problems and Enriching the Life You Know and The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book and The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 2: A Seth Book, and then doing A Course in Miracles, is going to get all of the important, true concepts (there are some that I don't think are true) that are introduced in this play book, plus some others, presented in very gentle, loving ways.
The God of Pan? Wow. Interesting mix of different dieties in the Excuse me Your Life is Waiting Series....some of the exercises with "spirit guides" and invoking different dieties was quite interesting and confusing. It got a little wierd invoking the "God of Pan" and all other manner of "Gods" in some of the exercises...-you just have to sift through the freaky meditations and use what fits with you. The author seems to be very confused on who God is--that was the only part that bothered me. The actual meat of the book as far as utilizing the law of attraction definately and how we blame a lot of what's OUTSIDE instead of what's INSIDE US for our results in life--THAT was the part I could use!
shame to have to write in it This is a workbook to go with Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting: The Astonishing Power of Feelings. Once you have read the first book you then use this as your day book where you put things into practice. Since there is a bit of a list of things to remember, you tackle your corrective (stim:response) behaviour here in nice easy chunks till you get the flow. It is religion/cult free, but helps if you think there is a god or buddha, if not that then even if as a darwinist you cannot help make use of this. The only people who wont find this book of use is those that take comfort in being lifes victim as some kind of myarter (so why are you singled out by god to suffer so?).
