false advertising I picked this up because I heard it advertised as the Gospel, which translates to "good news." It opens up by telling the reader how the human race is doomed because two poorly developed characters ate an apple that a snake told them to eat. That's not good news.
The Holy bible King James Version I received the shipment within a couple of days without a problem as usual. I would have liked to have known about the not so good quality of the paperback version beforehand. It is going to fall apart pretty soon I am afraid. As I will read in it a lot (it's the Bible)I would have rather spent a bit more money on a better version.
FINALLY! With this small, lightweight and aesthetically pleasing version of God's word, I can bring my shame for my body along with me everywhere I go!! Its a must have for ANYONE that needs confirmation from a God that your life has meaning.
remarkable book The King James version is one of the most accurate translations of the Bible. This translation includes stories, insight and advice for all who seek a Christlike life. It is very motivating and inspiring. And the history, teaching, and advice are true. My favorite is the New Testament especially the Sermon on the Mount.
Predictable It starts out with this guy creating the world, the animals and some naked people. There is the serpent thing with an apple which was crazy because God got mad at the naked people for eating the apple. Then it goes into all these other wacky stories, very violent at times, the world gets flooded, and all these bad things happen. Then apparently, if I understand correctly, some jew claims that he is God's only son and he is there to fix things up, but they "crucify" him (literally !) for claiming he is the "son of God" (or "Lamb of God" - I didn't understand that part. Then some other stuff happens then finally the last chapter must've been written when the author was stoned or something. Totally crazy. Interesting book, but I don't know if it will play to the mainstream audience. They need to spice it up a bit.The Beginner's Bible: Timeless Children's Stories
