Product Description: The best-selling author of "Epileptic" and one of Europe’s leading new generation comics artists invites us to experience nineteen explorative and most imaginative dreams he has experienced. Strange, scary, beautiful, funny and with a sense all their own, these are tales of the inner psyche.
The art of dark but gripping dreams This collection of 19 dreams, written & drawn by French comics artist David B., is an ominously beautiful book. His strong line & style have the effect of totemic woodcuts, as if a tribal shaman had access to a printmaker's tools, and powerfully convey the often troubling but fascinating nature of his dreams. In his brief preface, he states, "I love their chaotic and poetic structure. I love their mysterious logic. I love their enigmas without solutions." You won't find a better description of these pieces than his own words!
I'm glad to see that more comics artists are giving their dreams tangible shape on the printed page. This really is an ideal medium for such work, and I especially hope we see more from David B. Offered uninterpreted to the reader, they'll have you wondering about your own dreams, and perusing them with greater focus. Highly recommended!
