Product Description: More than any other publication, Gothic & Lolita Bible has played an instrumental role in defining the Japanese Lolita style. A quarterly mook (magazine/book hybrid) that's a combination fashion magazine, culture guide, and art book, the Bible caters to fans of two separate but related fashions: Gothic and--to a greater extent--Lolita. Volume 2 of the U.S. edition offers content from volume 25 (June 2007) of this definitive Japanese mook for the first time in English, along with exciting original content covering the Gothic and Lolita culture in North America.
So Cool! When I bought this, I was scrolling through so quickly I didn't even see that this was published by Tokyo Pop. You can imagine my surprise when I flipped it open and saw the words were in english! I was expecting nothing but japanese kanji, so it was a nice surprise to be able to read all the little 'how-to' crafts. This is a really great issue if you really love flowers.
Yay Tokyopop for not sucking! before the releases there was so much worry in the lolita community that it would suck. The first issue was very basic, but this issue is very nice! I like how it covers both Japan and Western events and offers Brand reviews and reader spotlights and event snaps!
The flowers theme was very cute too :3 I like also the makeup tutorials, and hope to see hair and make tutorials in the future!
Need Real Graphic Designer/Marketing Expert Am I the only one who thinks these mooks could stand to the talents of someone with a marketing or even a graphic design degree? The few pages that are original to the english version are painfully obvious with the super amateur high school magazine feel. Other than that, the original content was fine and its always fun to read translations!
