HEROES, VOLUME 1 Very interesting book. Well-illustrated and compelling story line. Excellent! I highly recommend it to fans of the show HEROES and all fans of good storytelling.
Heroes Vol. 1 It's just like watching the show. Great filler in between episodes, plus it expands the story of the characters.
I like what they were trying to do but..... As a longtime fan of comics I was intrigued by the Heroes mini comics that they released on their website. I read then for a few weeks but I am not very diligent with keeping up with online subscriptions or weekly releases and eventually forgot about them. As such I was happy to see these released in print form. First off, every artist in the book did an excellent job. Every story is drawn well and eloquently written. Unfortunately the characters that are newly introduced or had just small parts in the TV series can seem somewhat 2 dimensional. You can't really get acquainted with the characters and, thus, have a hard time becoming immersed in the stories. This may have alot to do with the format with which they were released. All in all this is a good book which will give you a better look into the Heroes Universe (Lindeman and Anthony Petrelli's 1st meeting) just don't be expecting any "necessary" plot twists.
Heroes bonus season one material This graphic novel is not amazingly drawn but it gives a ton of background information on people such as Mr. Petreli and Linderman's background story and wireless. Any avid heroes fan would greatly enjoy this book. It is quick reading though (an hour or two depending on how long you look at the pictures).
A metaphor for us all Human being equals potential. Granted, we're not superheroes with superpowers. Yet the powers that we have are not minor, and we all have to find our way in life, discovering what we should do with what we have.
Hiro is my favorite, he's so like most of us, flawed, weak at times, resolute and strong at other times, passionate, dedicated, and always wants to do what's right. But I also think the actors in the TV series are perfectly cast. And the result is magic.
This is beautifully made, drawn, colored. You won't find better comic art that this, certainly on a level with "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller, Klaus Janson and Lynn Varley or "Watchmen" by Alan Moore. It is a joy to pick up and read or just browse through. Also, it adds some vital background information to the stories.
If you like the TV series, this book is highly recommended to you.
