Product Description: Years ago, with his ties to the Justice League strained, Batman founded the Outsiders -- a super-team whose roster was filled with heroes that didn't fit in with the mainstream super-hero community. Later, the team was re-established under the supervision of Nightwing, with the goal of taking on super-villains in a proactive manner.
In the wake of INFINITE CRISIS, Batman has once again assumed the leadership role of the Outsiders. And to take control of his former team, the Dark Knight is using five adventures to pick his new lineup!
Learn who will make the cut as an Outsider in this action-packed volume!
This book collects five one-shot style team up stories. Nightwing & Captain Boomerang Jr., Katana & Shazam, Thunder & Martian Manhunter, Metamorpho & Aquaman, and Grace & Wonderwoman. Then the book finales with Outsiders #50. Each story is by a different writer, and each one is great. Also, every story features a different artistic team and really showcases some great talent.
By the end of the book much has been revealed, and you're excited for what lays ahead for Batman's new "Outsiders". I certainly won't give anything away (I hate that) but by the finale I was shocked at least a few times.
Obviously if you haven't been following this series there's really no point in buying this book, but if you have, or just want to remember what's good about super-team comics, don't go without all the Judd Winick Outsiders stories.
I'll be sure to follow up with Batman and the Outsiders: The Chrysalis (Batman)
