RIP Ollie Queen And this was the story in which Judd Winick killed the real Oliver Queen and turned him into what Winick is - a textbook limo liberal who thinks that everything can be solved by shouting slogans and throwing money at the socitetal ills.
Rather than seeing the defender of the common man created by Denny O'Neil or the urban hunter/crusader of Mike Grell... this Green Arrow fights zombies with crimelords and limits his political discourse to brief speeches on how gay marriage can be used to save a disaster-ridden city... just as soon as they find enough gay men and women willing to establish residence in a bombed-out slum filled with zombies. :P
Fair to middling I've been a fan of GA since the graphic novels started coming out, with the early Kevin Smith take on the character. It's starting to get a little old. C'mon, massive gay weddings held to generate income for the stricken Star City? Gimme a break. I know GA's essentialy torn between political correctness and doing it "his way", but please...I also think it's time to bring another artist in on the title. I'll give this series one more try.
