Expect one thing, deliveres another The book has an incredible beautiful front and cover artwork. Makes you want to buy without waiting.
When my copy arrived i was highly disappointed. There is only seven pretty images other than the ones on the cover, and the other are sketches or different layouts for those same images.
Alongside this beautiful images, there is a really old (1994-1995) and bad quality Comic history, that takes almost half the book.
So, yeah, the front and cover art, and those seven images are really pretty. But with such a little content, i highly recommend you spend your money supporting other artists that have much bigger and richer artbook out there.
Nice few pages... For those of us who have seen this artist at various places online like Computer Graphics Society this seems like a great deal. The book is listed with quite a few pages and a beautiful cover image for a not bad price. I was slightly upset when I received my copy to find that the majority of the book is encompassed with a comic, one which was maybe not so popular anyway. I gave this book four stars because the first few pages which have the real art that I was looking for are exquisite and display very well, I just wish that the remainder of the book held up to this standard.
Memories Lost, and now found Hoang Nguyen is an amazing illustrator and artist, with a portfolio stretching from hand drawn superheroes in Marvel Comics to 3D cybergods for Bandai Video Games. His diverse style continues to evoke a range of deep emotions, which adds almost a spiritual connection to his work. This book, Memories Lost, is a collection of original paintings and sketches, a complete visual treat for anyone who enjoys manga and related genre. The mood of these images creates a lasting impression, long after the book has been closed. This depth shows his great insight and character, by crafting his art to reach into our hearts and thoughts. This unique ability offers a special gift to each pair of eyes, something truly personal. The book is by no means a visual overload, but a perfect balance of shape and color. And once the contents are digested, most readers are left hungry for more - perhaps in the next collection.
