Beautiful collected volume of one of my favorites... Daniel Brereton's Nocturnals is a comic that shouldn't work. It throws together elements of pulp novels, westerns, Lovecraftian horror, and crime noir and makes something totally new that doesn't just work, it rocks. The resulting blend is unlike anything you've ever read, and it's a ton of fun.
This volume collects the first two stories of the Nocturnals, and includes a new story, "Clean Hands" that you won't find elsewhere.
Nocturnals is a fully painted comic (something that seems to sadly become more rare with each passing year), and Dan's art is simply stunning in this oversized presentation. All the colors are crisp and the paintings look like they could have been painted yesterday.
