Not the Premier Johnny Ryan Work Every comic in here is a "parody" of a real, existing comic. I say "parody" lightly because they are nothing more than the shell of the comic each one is making fun of; basically each comic is just characters from the comic strip being parodied swearing and sticking boners into each other. Add this formula with poop, and you've got yourself a simple, predictable comic book! Some of these are really funny, but most are all alike and it becomes pretty dull quickly.
This book is nothing compared to Portajohnny, my favorite Johnny Ryan comic book. Angry Youth Comix are definitely Ryan's best, and most developed comedy. The Comic Book Holocaust is funny once through, but after that, not so much. I would recommend just about any other Johnny Ryan book if you are familiar with any of his work, but if you don't find violence, sex, boners, poop and racism funny in the least bit you will want to read some other comics.Portajohnny: The Best of Angry Youth Comix: The Early Years
Some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen in my life This is a book of comic book and comic strip parodies that Johnny Ryan did in his sketchbook. Most of the parodies are only barely related to their source material so it doesn't really matter if you're familiar with the original comics. The comics here are really over the top and not for the easily offended or people that don't like things that are funny.
Some comics here include: Casper the ghost confronting his mom for aborting him, Ghost Rider crying because every time he tries to eat dildos they melt before they can reach his mouth, a Marvel Team-Up of Red Skull and Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman, the comic strip character Barnaby's face being turned into an anus, and Dr. Strange having sex with an interdimensional portal.
If none of that sounds funny to you then stay far far away. If you're already a fan of Johnny Ryan then you will probably like this a lot.
