With more than 1400 images, this visual reference to learning the components of the world's most widely used office application will help users of all levels quickly accomplish the tasks they have set out to execute. Each step-by-step instruction is accompanied by a screen capture showing exactly where to click to accomplish a task and complete everyday documents. Tips and tricks show the most efficient approaches for completing complicated projects. For users upgrading to the latest version of Office 2004, instructions are provided on using the dozens of new features across the suite, including the Notebook, the Project Manager, and Presenter tools. For those new to Office or simply making the switch to Mac OS, this book can be used as a self-paced guide or as a complete reference.
Don's no nonsense guide Did not cover the areas I was interested in: creation of directory from entourage address data. Otherwise an adequate primer.
Loved this book, very easy to follow I like the fact that each of the steps has a line showing me exactly where to click. Too many books just describe the actions and leave you wondering where you should be going. This book is great, I recommend it to anyone who is uprgrading to this version of Office.
Annoying and irritating There are two fundamental problems with this book. First, the level of user at whom it is pitched is very low. If you know where the power switch on your computer can be found, you will probably not learn much here that you didn't already know. Second, the layout and design of the book is awful. Every page is a mass of lines pointing to the applicable place on a screenshot where the feature under discussion can be found. It makes looking for and trying to read the material in which you are interested a confusing and unhappy experience. My advice to anyone interested in acquiring a useful Mac Office 2004 reference book is to look elsewhere.
Amazing Book - Easy to read, Tons of Info, Simple to follow The step by step instructions in this book made completing tasks in the new MS Word for Mac a breeze. There is a screen capture for every instruction so you never have to guess where to click. It also covers all of the application, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Entrourage. I especially enjoyed the section covering the new Presenter Tools in PowerPoint. I would recommend this to anyone looking to move to MS Office 2004 for the Mac.
