Product Description: Hondo the dog has a fun day at the beach while Fabian the cat stays home.
" Wake up, Hondo. Time to go!" Hondo will have an adventure. Fabian will stay home.
A dog named Hondo and his friend Fred are going to the beach for a day of excitement. Fabian the cat is left behind at home to play with the baby. Who will cause more trouble? And who will have more fun?
Peter McCarty's exquisite illustrations and understated wit turn an ordinary day in the lives of two pets into a rare delight.
A favorite Beautiful artwork. Written for the very young but my older son loves it almost as much as my younger son. They laugh at Hondo and Fabian's animal adventures and delight when they're reunited for the evening. A classic.
Amazing pictures, cute story! My two-year old daughter loves this book! The illustrations are beautiful and the story of Hondo the dog and Fabian the kitty is a cute one. I would highly recommend!
Beautiful Art - Very Weak Story I bought this book based upon its previous glowing reviews, however after reading several Rainy Dohaney books, this just doesn't stack up.
The artwork is beautiful, but this book is not engaging enough for any child over the age of 20 months or so. My 3 1/2 year old liked the art, but was bored by the story and kept asking questions wanting to know MORE about what was going on. She was intrigued, but bored.
It's not a TERRIBLE book, it's just a dull book. If you like this art style I highly recommend TINKA or MY BEST SWEET POTATO, which have become steady favorites in our home, and others whom we have given them to.
my toddler loves to "read" it my toddler loves this book. she almost has it memorized and now pretends that she's reading it.
Simple story enhanced with fine art. This story is simple enough for babies-small children to enjoy and the illustration is inspiring.
